Thomas gasped at the scene. "Oh no..." He knelt by the snare and tried cutting the wire to free the squirrel girl.

Chloe whimpered, her tail was bleeding where the wire was tightly bound on her fluffy brown tail. "D-Don't hurt me!" She yelped, tears brimming in her bright blue eyes, she had thought he may have been the hunter.

"I'm trying to help, just calm down. You're cutting your tail up..." He grimaced at all of the blood but got the wire off. He carefully removed her from the trap. "It's okay, don't cry..." Thomas murmured, trying to sooth her. cupping her in his hands.

"A-Alright." She whimpered, and gave a small nod. Chloe felt a bit uneasy in his hands, and rubbed her eyes, wiping the tears away. She was growing dizzy from the loss of blood..

"I'm gonna take you home and fix up your tail..." He stood and started walking, holding her close.

Chloe nodded slowly, she was trying to stay awake, her head bobbed up, and down. "T-Thank y-you.." She whimpered.

Once he got home he bandaged her tail. "There we go..." He set her on a pillow to rest.

Chloe was still scared of him, but she made no sign to try to run away.. Obviously she was too tired to try, and as soon as she was placed onto the pillow she was out like a light. Her light brown hair covered her face as she slept, and her tail curled around her.

Thomas smiled and got a clean rag to blanket her with. He grabbed a book and pulled up a chair, letting her rest.

Chloe slept for about an hour, before awaking slowly, her small squirrel ears twitched as she let out a yawn. She sleepily rubbed her eyes, and sat up, she had forgotten where she was for the moment.

He looked up when she yawned and smiled. "Did you sleep well?" He whispered, hoping not to startle her as she looked confused.

Chloe's gaze darted to him, her ears twitching down, and she started to slowly move back. "Y-Yeah.." She said softly, she noticed her wound had been treated, and wrapped up.Β

Thomas closed the book and set it aside, turning his full attention to her. "Are you hungry, or thirsty any?"

"B-Both.." Chloe said sheepishly, she hadn't ate for awhile now.. "Um.. a-and thank you f-for helping me." She added.Β

He nodded and slowly stood, giving a soft smile. "Don't mention it..." He said kindly and went to get her some food and water.

Chloe did her best not to flinch back when he stood, and waited for him instead of running like her instinct said. She stared at her tail, she hadn't expected a human to actually save her, Chloe was told they were cruel to small creatures like her.. That made her curious of him, even though she was still a tad frightened of him.

Thomas came back with some chunks of fruit and a little bowl of water. He set them down by the pillow and sat.

Chloe tilted her head at the fruit, a bit wary and slid off the pillow. "U-Um.. T-Thank you." She said timidly, and took small bites out of the fruit.

"You're welcome." He kept his low volume. "What's your name, hon?" He watched her.

Chloe shyly looked over at him, she had a timid smile.Β M-My names Chloe." She said through her nibbles, she ate a lot of the fruit, and drank some of the water he had gave her.Β

He nodded. "I'm Thomas. Do you feel better, Chloe?" He smiled and picked up his book.

"Y-Yeah, I do feel a little better. Thank you." Chloe said, and finished eating.

"You're welcome. Are you cold?" He left what was left incase she got hungry again.

"Y-Yeah, I am a little cold.." Chloe said, she had been shyly keeping her eyes on him.

He got a dry, clean cloth and set it by her. "Here."

(Thanks.) I quickly run over to the tiny squirrel girl and begin to cut the wires

Chloe would whimper in fear, and pain. There would be blood dripping from her tail as she moved it a bit.

I finish cutting the wires "are you okay?" I ask lifting her up in my cupped hands

She'd shake her head. "N-No, my tail hurts!" Chloe would cry out, her tail would be bleeding.

"O-okay ummm l-lets get you some h-help." I say stuttering.

She would nod, sniffling and wiping her eyes. "T-Thank you." She'd whimper.

"Okay lets go." He says starting to jog out of the forest holding her in his cupped hands

She'd be whimpering slightly in pain.

I soon reach my house. Once there i open the door and walk in.

She'd look up at him, tears in her eyes.

"Don't worry I'll get you all fixed up." I say in a gentle voiceΒ

She'd nod, wiping her eyes. "O-Okay." She'd whimper out.

"Okay first I need to see your tail." I sayΒ

"A-Alright." She'd move her tail slightly, whimpering slightly.

"Okay ill need you to relax ." I say gently putting her down on a table

"O-Okay." She'd nod and try to relax as much as she could.

I very gently touch her tail.

Chloe would whimper as you did, and try to keep still.

"Hey everything is going to be alright. " i say gently feeling her tail to see if any bones were broken.

Chloe's tail had a ring cut all the way around it, it wasn't broken, just needed some bandaging. She'd whimper slightly in pain.

"Well at least its not broken." I say

"W-Will it be ok?" She'd ask, her voice quivered slightly.
