Cheers.. I did try some stuff that didn't work..
Making the tentacles going behind the door as if it was about to touch the mom, that didn't really work.
Regarding the figures I reckon you are right.. At first she had the arms in the side and looked more angry, but I kind of liked the "hhmmff" attitude better?
But bottom line I think you're right, and I have thought about getting some of those "poses" books and see if that could strengthen my illustrations.

No prob. The poses of the figures don't look as expressive as the could be. The mom is just standing there like a statue...a little more body language to suggest that she's questioning and disbelieving her boy's story. I think the boy can be a little more animated trying to convince his mom that "it's just a blanket".
