I just made John a Hufflepuff because I wanted all the houses QvQRelated content

But John IS a Hufflepuff! NO way he is a Gryffindor. Even Hufflepuffs can be brave - remeber Cedric Diggory. It was HIM who got chosen from the Goblet of fire; not some Gryffindor. He was a Puff. And John Hamish Watson is one, too. He is not outrageously brave but only in the times of need. He is very loyal, true, just, friendly and hard-working. An obvious Hufflepuff. So don´t you worry about his sorting. You made a great decision.

John seeks danger and adventure and opportunities to be brave though, he isn't just brave when he has to be, that's more of a Gryffindor. Harry and friends pursued dangerous situations, they didn't just act bravely when necessary. Gryffindors are generally very loyal to their friends, like Harry, Ron and Hermione; John's very loyal but it very exclusive, it's only Sherlock and now Mary but not really to anyone else, plus Sherlock is just as loyal to John as John is to him. I think a better example of a Hufflepuff hero is Steve Rogers/Captain America, everything he did was because of loyalty, either his country, his fellow soldiers or his best friend Bucky. I also think Sherlock would probably be more of Slytherin because he only acquires knowledge that help him fulfill his ambitions (solving crimes.) I guess that's just how I see it.
