Description So I don't really draw anymore and haven't in so many years. Been too busy and unmotivated. I browsed some old artwork last night and got nostalgia from looking at some of the drawings no matter how bad they were. Threw this quick doodle together of Arizae getting a piggyback ride through a lake/swamp whatever you wanna call it.
I still can't draw, but it was fun

yeah I know how you feel. I don't draw as much anymore and my motivations died because of "adulting" and being busy. I occasionally draw but my animation goals died a long time ago.

I feel you there. Adulting takes all the live, energy, and creativity out of you. When I got home from work all I wanted to do was either nap or sit on the couch and watch TV, to heck with anything creative.
Aw sorry to hear that, but as busy as you are it'd be hard to keep up with drawing and animation stuff. So I take it you're not going to school for animation anymore?

mmm probably not. im not a very talented artist to create a decent portfolio. Even my professors told me through 2 years of community college to stop wasting time on art when clearly im terrible at it even in drawing class.. And as soon as I did graduate, I had no motivation to do anything and no confidence. Then I got a job and been working since. Been working 40+ hrs, trying to be independent and I guess leaving drawing as a hobby

Oh man that's rough to hear...Any of the arts are really competitive fields. It's hard to get support in them :/ Sorry that happened to you. I always liked your art though and thought it'd be a great style for Disney like animation. So what kind of job have you been working then? Hope everything else is going okay for you these days. I don't think anything could have prepared us for the adult world...It's just work, sleep, then go back to work basically.

been in the elderly field. working at a retirement home it's not all bad. there are some sweet people there, but then there are some that are so bitter that make me hate this job. so it's 50/50. Pay is ok but better than nothing.

Hopefully there's more sweet people that make your day at work better. A paycheck is a paycheck though. It's so hard to make a decent living and wage these days. I'm struggling to find work right now, since I graduated in May. Nobody wants to hire a new teacher right out of college.

Aww well did you try doing internships? I have a friend who wants to be a science teacher and he did volunteer work at his school and starting out as a substitute teacher and hopefully works his way up.

Yeah I spend a whole semester taking over someone else's classroom and teaching every single class. Substituting doesn't bring in a lot of money to live off of, but that's the backup plan if it comes to that. There's a few jobs that just opened up, so I'm hoping one of them will work out. It's hard to get your foot in the door though.
