Description

Once upon a time, somewhere that existed and did not exist, there was a set of 7 major and 12 minor islands.
In these islands, lived the Void Monsters, a set of various people that had somehow fallen into the Void and found their way to safe and inviting havens that these odd locations turned out to be.
Such was the same for quite an odd bunch that was more united than any family one had ever seen…

—{Mo}—

How Mo first appeared in the Void is quite a mystery in it’s own. The little ghost has no real idea of how he fell, nor does he really remember anything else about his past in general…All he knows is music.
The Island of Thursday (Island of all Creative Artists) is his ideal home.

Mo attacks by forcing the player to follow a certain pattern (Similar to Guitar Hero).
The player has to actually aim for the correct type of attacks (Violet Attacks) to aid in the composition of a wonderful classical song.
The more “Notes” you hit, the calmer the battle gets and the closer you are to spare Mo…However the less “Notes” you hit the more the speed of the attacks increases and the more aggressive Mo gets.
To appease Mo, you have to hit at least 20 correct “Notes”.

—{Benji}—

Benji was one of the kids that found his way into Mount Ebott. However unlike his fellow humans he mistakenly fell into the void and ended up in the loving home of Xenocrates and Cambria.
Benji was an orphan that lived in a rather stuffy human orphanage in the quiet down close to the mountain base.
He didn’t have many friends since he preferred to play music and draw more than anything else.
The Thursday Island appeals more to him due to it’s encouragement of creativity. It was there that he first met his best friend, Mo.
Even so, Benji resides in Minor Island of September, the Island of New Beginnings.

Benji’s attribute allows him to draw out their attack/action. Literally. The player has to actively draw their actions, either by drawing a stabbing motion (for ATTACK) or drawing a comforting shape like a heart (for ACT).
His weapon and armor are a paintbrush and a painter’s beret.
The paintbrush allows for more meaningful acts during battle.
The beret draws in more attacks from enemies but heals the player for 2 HP every five turns.
It’s a hard aspect to master.

—{Cambria}—

Cambria’s story is a tragic one. She and her sibling were humans that fell into Mount Ebott and became terribly injured.
They were both to die when a mysterious spirit came across them both and decided to provide some help.
After coming out as the most likely one to survive, Cambria was fed her sibling and turned into a Wendigo. Then she was sent into the Void where her healer knew a certain monster would be eager to help out.
She’s since forgotten her past life and become accepting of what she is and what she has gained since then.
Her home is in Semptember with Xenocrates and Benji.

Cambria attacks by screeching. Her screeches are so strong that they cause the box to shake.
The player has to dodge sound wave projectiles while actively avoiding the sides of the box which will cause -1HP of damage if they hit the player while shaking.
To appease Cambria, the player has to offer her food items. Then she will gladly spare them.

—{Kernel}—

Kernel was born and lives in Saturday, the Major Island known as Limbo.
She was raised to be the Saturnine Guardian but has since become bored with her role and escaped work by dividing her role and power with her younger brother.
Kernel is a hopeless romantic and a loyal friend, forgetting all dangers in order to help her friends.
She is a lot more powerful than she really cares to be.
Her favorite snack is popcorn.

Kernel was once a Boss Monster but divided her power with her brother, thus her battle has been shortened considerably.
She has three attacks: Seeker Flames, Ethereal Bark and Item Check.
-Seeker Flame consists of tracking fires that switch from white to orange. The player has to pass through this attack when the flames turn orange.
-Ethereal Bark consists of a dog’s head appearing inside the box and sending out large fires with each bark. Has a chance of going up to five barks and is randomized per use.
-Item Check enables Kernel to sniff out what the player has in their Inventory, thus she will be ready to steal any healing items used on the turn this attack is active on. She is naturally healed, so Players shouldn’t use items on this particular turn.
To appease Kernel, the player has to play with her twice and pet her trice.

—{Xenocrates}—

A monster of unknown origins, Xenocrates is a living doll creature made of magic and fluffy materials.
He is a philosopher with a love for life and a soft spot for children.
It was he who took in Cambria and Benji like they were his own, as well as another odd mysterious person whom he cares for as a daughter.
Xenocrates lives in the Minor Island of Semptember with Cambria and Benji.

As a philosopher, Xenocrates attacks by debating with you. A wall of text appears inside the box and falls towards the player or is lunged from either side like spears (Similar to the Special Thanks credits).
To appease Xenocrates, the player has to agree with him five times and then give him an insightful opinion.

—{Cristóvão}—

Kernel’s younger brother and once destined to be the servant of the Saturnine Guardian, Cris is an overgrown puppy with a protective streak.
Due to his increase in power, his once adorable and small looks have been warped into a towering giant with a humanoid canine appearance.
Despite this he is still very much a lapdog in his own right.
He despises Kernel’s odd taste in suitors.
Cris, like his sister, lives at the Major island of Saturday.

Due to having been given half of his sister’s powers, Cris has two extra attacks for his battle.
His attacks are: Pawful Smasher, Ethereal Howl and Copycat.
-Pawful Smasher consists of Cris trying to crush you with either his hands or feet. These attacks can be avoided but the impact of the limbs causes projectiles to shoot out in various directions.
-Ethereal Howl causes the box to shake violently and coming into contact with the box’s walls will cause -1HP of damage.
-Copycat ensures that Cris will take the hit of the player’s next move but will copy the exact attack used on the next round, damage included.
To appease Cristóvão, the player needs to pet him five times and compliment him once.

—{Unit. Epsilon}—

UE was a mining robot built by humans to find rare minerals. They have long since drilled into Mount Ebott and somehow found their way into the Void via an accident with trash disposal in Waterfall.
They were befriended by Butler and somehow joined the ragtag team of Void Monsters.
Kernel seems to despise them, a feeling UE cannot return due to being a machine.
Their preferred habitat seems to be the Minor Island of November, a decrepit location known as No-Man’s Land.

UE’s has two types of attack. Their more common attack consists of flames being thrown out sporadically and without a fixed pattern.
These fires will fill the box and cause damage if touched but, on occasion one or two flames will come out orange, which means the player needs to move around within those flames in particular to survive the bonfire.
The second attack consists of UE’s arms extending out, grabbing the player and throwing them around like a ragdoll. Each slam against a box wall causes -1HP. This is a rare attack which can be avoided if the player is not grabbed by an arm.
To appease UE, the player must apologize. This will immediately cause UE to spare the player regardless of any past misdoings.

—{Roscoe}—

Roscoe is an odd creature, a Wendigo Spirit, capable of influencing humans to become a monster themselves if they succumb to cannibalism.
This however does not make Roscoe malevolent as he is a rather kind being.
He was the one to save Cambria at the price of her sibling and, while he normally doesn’t much care for what he does to turn humans into his charge species, he is still haunted by the look of despair in the eyes of the child he murdered that day.
Roscoe had never killed until that fateful day…It is not an experience he enjoyed.
Roscoe self-exiled himself into the Void and lives in the Minor Island of June, a Forest Island where he has many trees to content himself with.

Roscoe’s attacks come in two stages. His initial stage of attack is throwing axes at the player, which is identical to any attacks the player has had to dodge from other monsters.
His second stage of attack consists of sending out his own head to try and take a bite out of the player’s soul. Roscoe’s head will follow the player relentlessly and, if coming in contact with their soul, the attack becomes similar to Lemon Bread’s biting attacks where the player will have to use faults between the teeth to avoid getting a chunk of health taken off them.
To appease Roscoe, the player has to pretend to chop down a tree and then bow twice.

–{Elek}–

Elek is a reckless and wild Electricity Elemental who was summoned by a respectful Witch in the Minor Island of May, the Library Island.
However due to his volatile nature, his electrical bursts ended up killing his summoner before he formed completely, leaving him an unstable blank slate of a monster.
Unsatisfied with his location, Elek then fled May and relocated to November where he found a junkyard to call home.
Without guidance from his summoner, he eventually became a bit of a punk in all senses of the term.
He’s a bit of a hot-headed egocentric mess at times but he does mean well, he just has no idea how to show it.

Elek attacks by using eletrical projectiles that follow the player before pausing and exploding into a burst of smaller and weaker projectiles.
The larger projectiles hit for -5HP while the weaker ones hit for -2HP.
On occasion, the hits have a 5% chance of paralyzing the player (Paralysis will make the player’s movements much slower).
To appease Elek, the player must compliment his style and reassure him that he is wanted/useful. He will automatically spare you and stop the battle.

–{Chiller}–

Chiller, despite looking like several skeletons, is one singular monster. A Gashadokuro.
They are the ancient guard of the Saturnine Temple and, while often seen as the several silent skeletons that line the walls of the Archives, they are quick to come to Kernel’s aid if beckoned.
No one can really tell where exactly Chiller came from, but some suspect them to be the remains of humans long dead from starvation caused by the war. How these remains came to be in the Void, no one can be sure.
They live in the Limbo Island of Saturday, guarding the Saturnine Temple, specially it’s Archives.

Battling with Chiller is not recommended as they are a giant starvation monster, thus they will devour you in one bite.
Befriending Chiller however, may be your best chance.
To do this, you must escape their relentless pursuit and find ways to appeal to their odd nature.
It is unknown how much HP they have or how much damage they can cause.
