Didja know that these guys were the same ones that fought against the Knuckles Tribe a long time ago? Cuz they are.

Yup, it's this guy. Dunno if people consider Sonic Chronicles canon or not, but I wanted to include this guy as one of many Big Bad Villains running around the world. Trying to wreck some havoc upon Mobius.

In this case, Ix is the leader of an ancient Echidna Tribe that fought against the Knuckles Tribe 4000 years ago. Y'know, that same incident that lead to the Knuckles Tribe attempting to steal the Chaos Emeralds, which lead to Chaos the Water God turning into a monster and destroying them all. Except the Nocturnus Tribe got off scott easy so they can start their conquest to take over the world! If only because of their belief that they were one of the strongest civilizations in the world during that period.

.....until some negative space wedgie appeared out of nowhere and imprisoned them in the Twilight Cage. Every one of 'em. So they stayed there for over 4000 years, surviving among the various fearsome alien races inhabiting the cage until finally, they evolved from an ancient tribal civilization to an advaned technological empire.

He even used Warp Technology to go back to Angel Island to steal the Emerald personally. While Knuckles got it back eventually, they did steal it for just long enough to power his legion which he used to invade Mobius with. Heck, Ix himself was a tough nut to crack, even against Sonic, and held on just long enough to sic his army on Mobius.

Nowadays? Ix is still around. His armies are on Mobius. But this time? He's actually gotten tangled up with fighting the Dark Legion. Neither of them being willing enough to ally with each other since both of them are tempted to take control of the world for themselves.
