Heh, fun fun fun, another good SCP for the count. One of the more dangerous SCP's, but not exactly entirely evil. Just REEEALLY morally ambiguous that highly involves his line of work. But lemme tell you more about it.

What is it?

So SCP-049 (Let's nickname him Dr. Arthur), is a rather delusional doctor who thinks the Black Plague is still around, and thus has a "cure" for it. To summarize it VERY laconically...that cure is basically using his touch, which invariably kills people, and using an assortment of vials and formulas that eventually bring the corpse back to life as a zombie which will kill any human it sees in its radius.

So to speak, this guy's more of a necromancer than a doctor, but the SCP Foundation doesn't seem to be able to convince him there IS no Black Plague. What's more is that upon speaking to him, he claims to know exactly who's infected, and who he has to cure.

What would THEY do?

This was a pretty risky procedure on their part, but they looked into his behavior VERY extensively.

It turns out that the Plague Doctor wasn't just wantonly sensing Black Plagues in people who don't have it. He was actually spotting other kinds of various sicknesses, ailments, allergies, unusual plasmids, gene quirks, anything and everything that makes a person unwell. However, somewhere along the way he lost most of his medical knowledge, and for the longest time pretty much lumped it under Black Plague, which killed a LOT of people. So the Eccentrix decided to take a different approach.

This time they had HELENA walk into the cell with this creepy fellow, and use her voice to sway him. Mainly by telling him....there's still a Pestilence. But it's taken different forms, and taken on different names than the Black Plague. Measles, Avian Flu, Ebola, The Flu...she pretty much managed to convince him that they're all different forms of the Black Plague, but they need different forms of treatment to cure the patient.

Whereas they ended up taking him to the Necromantic Offices, and enrolling him in legit medical school to get him to re-learn these kinds of things. What's more is that they put a second pair of mechanical greaves on his hands. These greaves muffle his powers, by making his touch unable to kill. However, his touch is pretty much an anesthetic that knocks people the hell out, mainly prepping them for surgery. For this reason, he's not only called upon to help cure diseases, but also to assist in surgeries that require some kind of biological correction, to a person whose body modifications make his/her life more difficult and painful than it needs to be.

Alongside that, he's also getting enrolled to get more knowledge on necromancy, which seems to be a special ability of his. Albeit he's a slow learner since he'd gone for so long thinking that zombification is a legitimate medical procedure.

See, Dr. Arthur is not evil, stupid, or anything of the sort. He's in fact a man who can indeed know what he's doing, as long as his head is a bit clearer.
