awsome and impressive effect!
great scenery. alaska must be gr8
so you only changed the white balance to get this effect or what exactly was it?

cheers GiZ

oh my god... i had an ORGASM watching this shot!.....
my next camera will be a canon eos400d, can you tell what do i have to buy, to get these sort of pictures, and can you give me some links also of how to learn to make them... i mean, i want to improve my style, i want to learn more!...THANK YOU!.

hehe, thanks
I'm not sure how good is 400d for infrared.. I know 350d and 20d can produce some good results but most canon dslr's don't.. what you will need to try it is a hoya r72 filter and a tripod + a good photo manipulation software of course
Here's some info you might want to read:

thank you very much for everything! what you would suggest me to buy? i have 1000€ to spend for the camera... and i still have to see what can i get.. i was going on 400d since i saw some very soften pics made with it.. so i was quite sure it's very good... anyway suggestions are welcome.. so thank you!

well, as a 'nikonian', I value ergonomics and "pleasure of use" as much as image quality. I'm sure you can take awesome pics with the 400d and get less iso noise than with a Nikon, but personally, I just don't like to operate the xxxD Canons. xxD series feel way better in hand, but I don't know how much more they cost. My strong suggestion is nikon d80. you should try to find people who own the cameras you think about and play with each of them for a few hours, or at least spend some time operating them in a store...

I think you can get a 67mm hoya r72 for around $60.. I'd recommend cokin 007 atualy, don't know how much those cost

i had to add it to my favs, not because i absolutely love the image (coz its a little creepy) but your technicalities deserve an applause! (and the fact that its creepy is cool too.)

wow!
to tell you the truth it kinda scares me. but its a great shot, and amazing work there with your filters, its incredible to think there are no changes post-processing( i have never used filters so i know nothing of that stuff) but this turns out so fantasy like. its gorgeous!

i don't understand, how you made these colours... I use Nikon d70 too, and filter Cokin P007 (it's like Hoya R72).

tisbone In reply to adnrey [2007-01-25 17:11:34 +0000 UTC]

as far as I know, your cokin is more like hitech.. (I'd actually like to get it one day) they just say it's 720nm, but looking at the colour intensity I'd say it's about 650nm or so..
the hitech is even weaker. it lets so much visible light through, that without a polarizer, bictures are mostly pretty bad.. and using a polarizer makes a big change in colours.
Anyway, I only had an effect like that with heavy clouds and sun-lit trees, wich doesn't happen very often
