Description
Overview:Map of a continent of several animal factions (some anthropomorphic, others not) in a made-up fantasy setting. This took about 3 months to finish! Drawn with a mouse in MS paint with extensive pixel pushing to get it looking decent. Zoom in for best results, lots of little details to find I think. Most of the previous art you will find on my page is MMO instance ideas primarily, usually pulling lore from existing franchises. This, and the previous map, Raven Isles, are wholly original concepts with their own lore. This was made with a single player experience in mind but I didn't think much about the specifics there.
Right side of the map is jungle and forest primarily, with coastal elements scattered throughout. Middle section is a swampland where foreign invaders are looking to stage an invasion of the continent. Northernmost section is Pasiphal, a secluded kingdom of gold ruled by anthropomorphic bull people. Small island off the coast houses an extensive underground section that serves as the precarious hub of the secretive owl people. Left side of the map is a desert area that was once very different. Destroyed by the sins committed there, this is a hellish landscape where pools of roiling blood dot the landscape and bioluminescent crystals grow like fangs on the margins.
Lore is more or less in progress but the map is as far as I plan to take it. I tend to update these blurbs over time as they are secondary to the actual artwork.

QUEST CHAPTERS - MAIN STORY IDEA
CHAPTER I - Stranger Tides - Terrapin Strand:
While on a regular shipping route you've done hundreds of times, a sudden storm sends you off course.
1.1 - Distant Tides: Recover after a brutal shipwreck. Repel carnivorous crabs.
1.2 - New Friends: Meet Terrapin monks that live on the shoreside. Assist them.
1.3 - Legend of Azz'kaloth: Unlock the mountainside vault. Discover the impending threat.
1.4 - Something's Amiss at Sholao: Investigate the ancient haunted pagoda within an isolated cloister
of Tenzin.
1.5 - Press Forward: Say your goodbyes and cross the bridge into the next chapter.
CHAPTER II - Nature Walk - Pollenheart Arbory:
Having secured the allegiance of the coastal Terrapins, you have their blessing to seek the aid of the nearby mothkin.
2.1 - Secrets of the Forest: Assist the moth queen in securing her lands.
2.2 - The Great Catch Competition: Learn to fish with the Angler Society.
2.3 - The Sacred Harvest: Assist the moths and terrapin monks in harvesting precious herbs.
2.4 - A Walk Amongst the Flowers: Escort Magda to a sacred monolith hidden deep in the Arbory..
2.5 - Dark Wings On Bleak Winds: Magda parlays with Zeroth at her coastal temple. Zeroth informs Magda of the growing threat of the newly resurgent Saurian empire.
CHAPTER III - The Trials of the Terrapin - Tenzin
Explore the heart of the Terrapin lands, meet their god.
3.1 - Xiao's Climb: In the rote interest of survival, Zeroth has made clear his intent to stand with Kazek in the war to come. Magda has asked you to seek additional allies in the Terrapin monks of nearby Tenzin.
3.2 - Trouble in Tenzin: Local monkeys are wreaking havoc at the temple. Put a stop to it.
3.3 - A Growing Concern: Meet with Xiao and inform her of the impending threat.
3.4 - Rotting from Within: Clear the centipede infestation from Tenzin. Slay the treacherous Master Quo'lin.
3.5 - Hurry Back: While the Foetid Coven remain an imminent threat, they have been pushed back for
now.
CHAPTER IV - Blackthorne's Crusade - Drowned Lowlands
Most men would see a swamp, Admiral Blackthorne sees opportunity in this tepid mire. His company has constructed a fortress on the coast, and intend to move further inward to threaten the Terrapin Monks. Xiao has tasked you with investigating this recent incursion. Deeper in the swamp, Skoloth is being resurrected by his coven of witches. If the foul centipede god is allowed to return, he will surely aid Kazek in unleashing ubiquitous carnage and suffering on the continent.
4.1 - Call to Arms: Your mission is clear, get through the Drowned Lowlands and find a way into
Pasiphal.
4.2 - Mankind: Encounter Blackthorne. Learn his intentions for Austrigal
4.3 - Guile of the Frogkin: The way to Pasiphal is sealed. Perhaps the local
frogkin know how to open the way.
4.4 - Setting Them Straight: Sabotage operations within Blackthorne's fort.
4.5 - Doors Once Opened: Break the seal and seek Halcyius.
CHAPTER V - Legends of the Longhorns - Pasiphal
Prove yourself to the Longhorns, secure their allegiance in the war to come.
5.1 - In the Heart of the Longhorn Empire: Prove yourself to the bull warriors in the Pasiphal arena.
5.2 - Ursa Supremus: Seek out the leader the bear god faction. Learn their true intentions.
5.3 - The Finer Things: Learn of the finer things of the Pasiphalian high life.
5.4 - An Audience with Halcyius: Meet the bull god in the coastal capital of Qal'Sahar.
5.5 - The Prelate's Vision: Seek the prelate. Work to prevent a foreseen catastrophe.
5.6 - The World to Come: Kazek assaults the port of Qal'sahar. He seeks the power of the Goldhorns.
CHAPTER VI - Lost Wisdom of the Autumnal Court - Noctoles
Thanks to your efforts, Qal'sahar remains standing. The Prelate has directed you to find a way to activate the ancient mechanism near his tower, as they will need further allies if there is any hope of ending Kazek's reign. This mechanism teleports you across the falls to the island of Noctoles.
6.1 - No Visitors: Seek the court.
6.2 - A Cold Reception: Meet master engineer Antilles.
6.3 - Snakes in Our Midst: Identify the traitors. Earn the Court's trust.
6.4 - The Power to Make It Right: Learn what must be done to restore peace to Austrigal.
CHAPTER VII - As the Arbory Burns - Pollenheart Arbory: Kazek, with Blackthorne's assistance, attacks the Pollenheart Arbory intent on destroying Magda and her kin. The fires must be quenched and the queen must be protected at all cost! Zone is permanently altered by the battle. The Court of the Eclipse breaks their tenuous alliance after witnessing Kazek's unhinged brutality. Zeroth assumes leadership in the battle's aftermath and is charged with the protection of the surviving members of the court.
7.1 - Unimaginable: Save the surviving mothkin from the invaders.
7.2 - Unforgivable: The moth queen Magda has been cornered and needs help.
7.3 - Putting Out Fires: Stop the fires before the Arbory is lost.
7.4 - Not So Fast: Kazek may have fled but Blackthorne remains vulnerable. Make him pay!
7.5 - Desperate Measures: Call upon Antilles and his engineers to repair the lift to Mount Fury.
CHAPTER VIII - What Remains - Mount Fury Summit: The survivors of the battle rally and repair the grand lift that grants access to the plateau above the now-burnt Arbory. First encounter with the scarce hostile forces of the dog empire. This chapter will center around pushing through the magical barrier guarding the ancient palace of the Mongrel Empire. The mountain fortress of the shogunate is intended to serve as postgame content (maybe a raid). : Hostile to both Kazek and the friendly player factions. Self interested, isolated and arrogant. Population is in decline and their lands had to be frozen over with dark magic and sealed to prevent Kazek's forces from overwhelming them in a great battle shortly after Azz'kaloth's death. None of the other factions of Austrigal came to their aid in time to stop the inevitable devastation. The shogunate thus concluded that the only means of survival was to isolate themselves within Mount Fury. It is believed they rule from the sealed tomb at its apex.
8.1 - Unwanted Arrivals: Defeat the Mongrel Outriders.
8.2 - Secrets of the Lost Empire: Explore the nearby underground ruins and a way to disable the
magical barrier protecting Mount Fury.
8.3 - Fate's Doorstep: Push through the mongrel defenders and reach the summit.
8.4 - Atop It All: Explore the frozen lands of the Shogunate and seek Žyliath.
Chapter IX - Shadow of Sin - Žyliath: When Kazek betrayed and murdered his father, the former lizard god Azz'kaloth (his bones are visible on the map!), creator and patron god of Žyliath, a once verdant oasis turned accursed wasteland. Kazek has since enforced a culture of desperation and ritual sacrifice to feed the dark forces that now loom close on the horizon. Kazek will stop at nothing to conquer Austrigal, and rules with an iron fist over his starving, savage kin.
9.1 - Fresh Meat: You are captured and they plan to sacrifice you to the pools.
9.2 - Honoring the Dead: Prove yourself to the downtrodden. Earn their allegiance.
9.3 - Siege of Slitherhome: Explore the subterranean passages beneath this ruined house of worship.
9.4 - What We Came For: Track and locate the needed material for Antilles' weapon within the skull of
Azz'kaloth.
9.5 - Fall of House Sacrilon: Defeat the decadent royal family at Bloodfall Manor. Free their slaves.
Chapter X - Wound of the World - Žyliath:
Near the foot of Kazek's citadel, a large, nameless aberration has emerged from the earth and he worships this foul creature. The creature does not appear outwardly hostile but it is simultaneously a growing wound in the continent itself. Kazek has built an altar where he regularly communes with this creature via unknown means. It is believed that this creature was spawned by the brutality Kazek wrought upon the land and its people when he killed the god of this land and brutalized his own kin. He rules this ruin with an iron fist. By usurping the throne and stealing the celestial powers of his creator, Kazek has cursed his homeland forever. The natural order must be restored, and Kazek must die, if there is any chance of saving this collapsing kingdom.
10.1 - Arach'ne's Descent: Explore the cavernous domain of the Webweavers.
10.2 - A Way In: Slay Arach'ne's champion. Discover the secret entrance into Kazek's Citadel.
10.3 - A Tangled Web: The way suddenly seals shut and armies of spiders attack.
10.4 - Time to Leave: Narrowly escape Kazek's wrath. Return to Tenzin.
Chapter XI - To Kill A King - Endgame
