These machines (or boxes) were created to be capable of producing complex circuit boards for various technological applications. When these units operated in large numbers, they were capable of composing vast networks and complex machinery.

When the red [moon] rose, they began morphing into hostile predators, their once elegant circuitry assuming unnatural, angular shapes. Their silicon forms twisted into devastating weapons and Eldritch spines. They were the harbingers of the end times, their true masters unseen.
