Liege Maximo, the ultimate contender to the leader of the Primes, Prima, the first born Cybertronian. Liege Maximo was born off the will of both the Allspark, and Primus himself. Liege was the equal and opposite brother to Prima, the embodiment of chaos, the counter-balance to Prima's embodiment of Freedom and Peace. He sought to rob of Prima's leadership in order to fulfil his purpose of establishing chaos across the entire universe. Though after a daring battle, Liege was beaten by his brother, and sought to establish balance alongside him rather than killing him. Liege accepted his request and placed his loyalty to Liege as second-in-command. However Liege was constantly plotting behind his master's back, attempting one day to overthrow him and ensure Prima's destruction.

During Megatronus' corruption, Liege Maximo used this as an opportunity to draw Prima's attention, intentionally insulting Megatronus alongside the other Prime's to fuel his rage and allow him to betray his brothers. Giving Liege the chance to successfully obliterate the other Prime's who stand against him and become king of the Primes. However during the battle against Megatronus on Earth, Liege was defeated by Prima with the help of the other Primes, sealing him away in the opposite to the Matrix, the Dark Spark, where this relic would be cast out into oblivion, where Liege awaits his return to rule the universe once again.
