As a child, Virus was once known as Koka Byōki, a boy inspired by his pro hero parents to rid of all of the evil in the world by being a pro hero. With his quirk, he couldn’t control it very well, but he couldn’t control the purple gas at all, and if we were to use it, it would continue to spew non stop and there was nothing he could do to stop it, but the only people who could stop the purple gas were his parents, and they warned him about using his quirk like that. As much as they tried to teach him to control his powers, it unfortunately couldn’t be done. In middle school, he was a well educated student who gotten good grades and didn’t use his quirk at all, but many students bullied him, saying he was like a virus since he uses something that could make people sick, and some of them pretended to be sick in front of him to showcase how contagious he is. As much as he ignored it, Byōki was sensitive about his powers and felt ashamed to be called something like that.
