Description AT LONG LAST!!! I finally decided what I’m going to use THIS OC I’ve kept on shelf since 2015, Gloom. I honestly don’t know if he’ll fit or not, but what do you guys think? Honestly, I feel like he’s basically a mixture of Cell, Buu, and Baby.

Abilities: Gloom is made entirely out of blood, meaning he doesn’t have any flesh or bones. He can drink blood from any part of his body leaving his victims as nothing but a sheet of skin. He can also use any part of his body to mimic attacks depending on the people’s blood he drinks. Also he can’t take damage from being shot or cut, and he is immune to any extreme temperatures that blood would normally harden at. He can also hide in the body of anybody with an open wound and invade their bloodstream and drink them from the inside out.

Height: 250 cm
Status: Alive
Age: Many millennium

Personality: Gloom is an incredibly unremorseful creature as he is willing to invade any area and drink the blood out of any creature who he comes across and sees them as nothing but his food. He is also pretty insidious as he makes sure NOBODY discovers his existence by killing every single person in the area he invades. Despite his murderous ambitions, Gloom shows to have a caring side as he bonds with his team of assassins, Team BLDS (Bloodstone) and considers them the closest thing he has to a new family, and will murder anybody who manages to kill them. He is also very snarky and cocky to his opponents and victims and can be a bit of a wisecracker anywhere he goes, and is outrageously overconfident in his abilities and believes absolutely nothing can harm him, at least when he continues to evolve. He hates the fact that he is made of blood and wishes to obtain enough blood to become flesh and bones again to surpass everybody around him. He always believes he is above hunters and huntresses and thinks an army of non magic users can protect the world from the evil of Grimm. Gloom loves the spotlight, performing as an actor and the thrill of danger. Even as a Devil shaped monster, nobody will care as long as he can give the people of Remnant salvation. He considers anybody who steals his spotlight as competition, and with competition, he tries to make them look like garbage through any means.

“Backstory”: Gloom was once a hunter whose Semblance can manipulate his own blood. In an attempt for a group of scientists, who were a part of Sarrus's empire, to create an army of Grimm/human hybrids to fight for them, they kidnapped dozens of Grimm and people, Gloom included, to perform numerous experiments on. Injecting human blood into the Grimm and injecting whatever is inside the Grimm into humans. One day, everything begins to go array as the bodies of the subjects begin to rot away and all that remains are the infected blood of the human subjects. With Gloom's body almost completely destroyed, barely clinging onto life, and having no other choice left, he uses whatever power he has left by controlling the last of his blood to absorb the blood of the other deceased subjects in order to kill himself; however, due to the numerous side effects that infected the subjects blood during the experiments, the blood began to forge together and create a single living entity, thus creating the monster known as Gloom. (This will no longer be his backstory)

Real Backstory: Many Millennium ago, Gloom was once a man named Zulldrag Klestar, who studied to become an actor and was praised by everyone around him. He eventually learned magic as a way to defend himself from those who hate him, but eventually enjoyed killing in general after finding out how many hated him. He eventually met the ancient warrior Ozma and fought him and lost horribly, but unbeknownst to Ozma he managed to take out a small bit of his blood and poison it and inject it into Ozma’s body. He managed to recover from his fight, but when the first colony of humans were about to be wiped out by the gods, he managed to transfer his consciousness into his blood and invade the body of a dead pig leaving his corpse to disappear, and from that day forward, he’s been seeking blood to obtain a physical form again.

Which origin sounds better, but personally, I’m going with the second one

I’ll try to think of different stuff up later, but this is all I have for now

RWBY belongs to Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth

Gloom belongs to me, TitanXecutor

Also if you were confused, Gloom wasn’t behind the operation. He was one of the subjects there

Not that I don't like this character (I remember when you posted Gloom originally), but I feel like in order to make this character seem more realistic in the RWBY Universe as possible, I would make him more Grimm-like. This could include slightly altering his design to make him look more like a Grimm and personality. I'm not saying I don't like his personality. I think it's great, but all Grimm (so far) have been shown to be more like wild animals.

Now, the idea of sentient Grimm is something the fandom has come up with multiple times, but in terms of canon, we have no idea. You can still make Gloom sentient, I'm just trying to help you out here.

Also, since some Grimm are based off of different animals, both real life and mythological, I think that either the Manananggal or the Chupacabra could work. They're both blood sucking mythological creatures. I would say a vampire, but that's way to obvious and cliche.

These are just a bunch of ideas that I'm throwing out there.

Hey, I have an idea. Listen:

Gloom is made out of the DNA of Grimms and blood Humans. In an attempt for a group of scientists to create an army of Grimm/human hybrids to fight for them, they kidnapped dozens of Grimm and people to perform numerous experiments on. One day, everything begins to go array as the bodies of the subjects begin to rot away and all that remains are the blood of the human and Grimm subjects, and due to the numerous side effects that infected the subjects blood, the blood began to forge together and create a single living entity, thus becoming Gloom.

Honestly this is probably more dumb as you continue reading it

That's not a bad idea. The idea of scientists studying and performing experiments on the Grimm have happened... but not entirely in the show.

It's in the video game, RWBY: Grimm Eclipse. Where Team RWBY goes and investigates strange Grimm behavior on a remote island. It's later revealed the island is the home/secret base of a mad scientist named Dr. Merlot. Basically, he saw the Grimm as a more powerful species. He tried to control and weaponize the Grimm, but not for his own personal uses or for world domination. He's actually trying to save it.

Dr. Merlot has a connection with Ozpin and it's possible the two were either friends or working together in their common goal to fight Salem. Merlot thought he could control the Grimm and use them against her, but Ozpin and those in power saw this as inhuman. They tried to stop his plans, which would cause Merlot's original base to be destroyed. He was presumed dead, but obviously, he survived and continued his research until Team RWBY showed up.

Near the end of the game, Merlot self destructs the base with Team RWBY escaping. His whereabouts and status are unknown, but based off an in-game award at the end credits, you can hear his laughter echo in the darkness. It's possible he's alive and will appear later.

It's unknown whether Dr. Merlot is canon to the show or not. But he's such an interesting concept that I hope he is.

Do you think it could work?

Sounds like a very fun game

I also had the idea as the series goes on, he begins to behave more and more wild, until the final battle, he changes into a Grimm like monster and becomes far more dangerous before

TUVGM In reply to TitanXecutor [2020-01-20 03:36:21 +0000 UTC]

It's not entirely out of the realm of possibility, but choose to stay away from genetic modified Grimm until something like that is confirmed to be a legit thing in the RWBY universe. But who's to stop you? I mean, Cinder is quite literally turning INTO a Grimm... (possible spoiler )

Oooh, I like that idea. Is Gloom going to be your main villain? Or will it be Lord Sartotious?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TitanXecutor In reply to TUVGM [2020-01-20 03:39:17 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for that

Until then, he'll be just made out of enhanced human blood.

Thanks and I feel like Gloom will be the Main Villain overall since I have more going for him. Also how do you like his abilities?

And Sarrus would be an excellent opponent for Blake

but How about he could be made out of the blood of Grimm

TUVGM In reply to TitanXecutor [2020-01-20 02:38:23 +0000 UTC]

Based off what we've seen, Grimm don't have any blood. They just turn to dust when killed.

If I were to guess, I would say that's either what they look like on the inside or just a place holder because we don't really know how the biology works for Grimm, not even the characters do.
