Wow. Haven’t drawn from this show for awhile. Anyways, here is our “protagonist”, Ruby Rose, as she fights off against my main villain, Gloom, and this time, Ruby is in her volume 1 outfit.

Alright, I’m going to be honest here, and please do not be rude if you disagree with my opinion and let’s try to be respectful, and if you disagree and enjoy the show as it is, I’m glad to hear.

It’s been 2 years since I began watching RWBY, and…

I’m done watching the original show. I’m really not enjoying the newer stuff Rooster Teeth is putting out for their life suppor… I mean magnum opus. My biggest problems with RWBY are how this show doesn’t know what it wants to do with itself. It’s trying to take itself so seriously that it’s impossible to take it as such. I know about change in tone, but the way they did it feels so sudden that I can’t wrap my head around it, and they’re stuck like that for the rest of the show. The newer crap contradicts with itself so much where you feel like the people behind this show forgot the first 3 volumes happened. Another big problem are the heroes. I put quotations for protagonist because I really don’t feel like Ruby is the protagonist of the show because she and her friends do not feel like heroes anymore, and even they don’t feel like heroes, yet everyone who says otherwise are the bad guys! ALL THEY DO IS WHINE ABOUT HOW POWERLESS THEY ARE INSTEAD OF TRYING TO DO ANYTHING, AND WHEN THEY DO, THEY MAKE SHIT WORSE, AND WE’RE STILL SUPPOSED TO BE ROOTING FOR THEM BECAUSE THEY’RE THE MAIN CHARACTERS!!! RUBY WAS MY FAVORITE IN THE BEGINNING, NOW I DON’T CARE IF SHE DIES!!! Sorry about that. Knowing this writing team, I’m sure they’re gonna keep them the same and nothing will change, but who knows. There are a lot other problems I have, but not a lot of time to say them. The only things I like about the newer stuff are the small things. Things that have nothing to do with the story but make me chuckle or smile when watching. This show no longer feels fun like the first 3 volumes. It feels forced.

To be honest, I’m enjoying the fan content, mangas, and my own ideas much more than the actual show because it gives me a reminder on why I enjoyed RWBY to begin with. So from now on, I’m just gonna stick with fan content of the show and my own ideas I have for it. Why do I still wish to continue familiarizing myself with a show I’ve grown to dislike? First of all, I don’t want hours I’ve spent on this show and drawings I made for this show to go to waste. Second, I have ideas I keep thinking of for the show that I really want to express on paper and share with those who do enjoy the show, and those that still support my work. Call me stupid, bias, or selfish if you want, but this is how I feel.

Sorry if this was too much. Anyways, back to the drawing.

(I feel like the perspective of Gloom’s arm is off, and I think Ruby might be a bit out of proportion too. The worst part is I probably shouldn’t have drawn a red character in a red background, because it makes him blend in and hard to see his actions. I’m not sure what other color of background to use, and I refuse to leave the background plain white. Anyways, I hope you still like it)
