Diggin' it! As a Marine, I love the added element of persona, beyond the main character. It's the small things added in that give context to a painting and allow the viewer to create their own story. Really like it.
One thought: How you did the panel is kind of neat, however, you could easily make this into two works. One being the perspective of the viewer and the other being the whole perspective of the character through their eyes. That painting could be a side by side to this one, same size, same color scheme. Just my POV...no pun intended?! Still awesome work!
