Description
Castlevania's Alucard, son of Dracula. As his name suggests, he is the opposite of his father... Besides that, don't quiz me on more details because this is another character I'm really not familiar with (haven't played the Castlevania series) and I'm only going on what my friends have described of him to me.I have drawn him before, but this is the first time for me in my new style. Really like his character design, especially because his colour palette is so black/white and what little colour there is, is only very subtle. The trick with doing this drawing was to bring out all the tiny detailing that helps to embellish what would otherwise be a very bland picture... and boy, did it take me a looooong time to fiddle with
I have also taken liberties with certain details that were inconsistent when looking up ref images - like the clasp on his cloak... so I just... made it up as I went haha

very beautiful. I've always been a fan of your artwork, but I think you and I both agree it's the darker characters you do best of all. (Your Sheik is still one of my favorite images of him/her of all time!) And this is no exception. I really suggest you play a castlevania sometime! Judging from your frequently drawn character types, I think you'll fall in love with many characters from the series.
My favorite part of this piece I'd have to say is the hair. I love drawing hair and especially long, loosely curly hair, and Alucard fits the bill, despite that I don't draw him as often as I should. Fans playfully argue the color of his hair- whether it's the lightest cream blonde ever or just milky white. As you've noted in the description, reference images aren't always consistent. I love how you managed to tie both opinions in with coloring and I also love the realistic motion and feel to it! Ad this also goes for how you colored and draped the fabrics on his outfit too.
The only critique I'd have is that he's a bit darker skin-wise. He is half human, so he's not BLUE like his father (or purple in some depictions) but he's not a very healthy looking fellow either, but he still does look very true to the character in this artwork regardless. Very good, I love it!

wow, man, this is pretty damn impressive! I do a lotta comic book Line art Style Castlevania artwork, but man this is friggin amazing. love how you made him just a bit more Manly than you typically see him. that is how I try to depict him when I draw him as well.

Just finished this in time for Halloween. this is usually how I draw Alucard. like I was saying, I have a much more comic-book-ish kind of style, but really want to learn to do digital painting and not have the heavy black lines in my artwork.

Honestly the eyes are my favorite part here. The overall picture is amazing, but he genuinely looks like he's staring back, and the color of his eyes is just haunting.
