Description
Alice and Kathleen, twins, small time superheroes, and fitness models. As they're sort of local celebrities the masks are more fashion accessory than anything as they're public with their powers and part time job. In addition to the obvious 'one does fire, one does ice' thing they have going on they're physically slightly above the range of real athletes, each able to bench press around 1,000 pounds, and each able to hit just over 30mph in a sprint. The two have been popular since school when they were stars on the gymnastics team, reserve members of the volleyball team and on the cheer squad together. The long running background of being in team sports has really helped them be pretty great at the teamwork angle.
They have a bit part in Sarah's fourth story and are involved in combating a giant kracken attacking the beach, but I'm not sure they'll show up again. I did that story back in February and I only just got to bothering inking the sketches I did of these two back then. 'cause I suck at being on time with anything.

As an FYI, it turns out 30mph isn't that superhuman - unless you think Usain Bolt is superhuman. Usain Bolt hit 28mph back in 2009 and i have read that science thinks speeds up to 40mph is theoretically possible for humans. I think 55/60mph is what you need to hit for definitively superhuman speed.

I think I said they're in a 'barely' category, and I read a study that said 30 would be about tops for the human build because we put a lot of our energy in going up and not just forward. I guess the science isn't entirely in on that just yet. They're only slightly stronger than a world setting figure as well, but IRL you don't get world class strongmen who run like Olympian sprinters -- at least not often I don't think?
To a degree it might be more fair to compare with the world's fastest women, though I'll admit I haven't taken the time to look it up...
Something more modest like "beyond peak" might be a better term in this sort of case. (ie: I can't figure out what to say about Karen, she'd be the strongest woman IRL quite handily but not the strongest person, so where does that leave her?)
