Yet again, I went camping at Catawba Falls. This time was with two of my friends from UNCG (Tom and Josh). We had a great time hiking and I got some really cool angles on the falls that I had never thought of before. The only downside of the trip was the eight hour onslaught of rain that proceeded to flood our tent with two and a half gallons of water. The good thing about that is the rain stopped at sunup. All the mosses got a chance to really green up and the waters were running strong! There was roughly twice the volume of water running through the falls as usual. It was very exciting.

This is the dam at Catawba Falls . I have been trying to correctly capture the iron oxide stains on these rocks ever since I was shown them by Spot (shown in front of the rocks that have the iron oxide stain). This is the first time I feel happy with the way I have captured the stain on these rocks. I will get a better photo eventually.

Thank you

In the States, most of the reasonably well known waterfalls are listed in a database. I can't find the site for it right now, but in google you can usually find them by typing waterfall and your area.

What a peaceful and yet alive photo! *SIGH* I can imagine myself sitting up on that wall, soaking in this scene with great solace...

hahahaha people would yell at you if you were on the wall. that's a 22 foot fall sitting where i took the photo would be way more soothing even though it's not much safer by any means but the view is better

I never view such things as an obstacle to a good place to sit and seek solace. So long as the structure is sound... heh...

...it's um...soundish
but you can lean over it from the back side. but really the best place to sit is where i took this from
