Description Wild may be an exaggeration when it comes to squirrels in Yosemite. They were meant by God to eat pine nuts, which by an incredible coincidence contain just about the right combinations of fats, protiens, and carbs for the little squirrels. Unfortunately, far too many visitors find it amusing to feed them popcorn, bread, potato chips, even candy.

The downside is obvious, it's not healthy for the squirrels at all.

The upside is, it's relatively easy to get a shot of these little beggars, they're not really afraid of humans.

Oh, um... don't go doing anything dumb like trying to pet one. These little guys carry Bubonic Plague . More to the point, their fleas carry it from the squirrels to... well, anybody the fleas come in contact with.

Reminds me of one time I was fishing and I dropped my granola bar by accident. A squirrel snatched that like it was the last food on earth, heh. He loved it, too...lol.

Yeah... probably granola would be about the healthiest thing that squirrel had mooched off a human.

Yeah well..it did have some chocolate chips in it, if memory serves. Likely one hyperactive squirrel for a few hours afterward-I'd only eaten about half of it.
