I had never drawn Crash Bandicoot whenever I had gotten better because I felt like I had to do it before. You are probably wondering why he has a halo.

Whenever I was young and learning to draw a bunch of people always asked if I could draw different subjects. A few asked if I would be able to draw for them some of these subjects. I once had a classmate that admired my work. He asked if he could get a picture of me, he wanted one of Crash Bandicoot since he liked him a lot. I figured okay whenever I get the chance I will draw it. I never got to it. Later we went our separate ways in junior high and met back in a class in 9th grade. I figured, hey I can finally do it now! However I was caught up in schoolwork that I didn't really get to it again. Then I found out over the break that he had died. I felt terrible for not keeping my word.

Years later when cleaning my room, I found one of the cards I had gotten from him before we left elementary. It had a picture of me from school. It had the words, "Thanks for being my friend." I vowed that one day when I'm a better artist, I will finally do the picture, but at the right time. That right time is today.

Today would be the 6th anniversary of his death. I never got to say it, but thank you for your kindness Joe, and thank YOU for being my friend. It makes me at ease to know you aren't suffering and that you are in a better place. Now that I was able to keep my word, maybe now I can be at peace with that memory.
