As I was processing my photos (still!) from the trip down to the Cinci Zoo, I laughed when I saw the expression on this pelican's face. It's like he's looking at me and saying "Hey baby, how YOU doin'?"

This is the Pink-backed Pelican, a smaller species of pelican that still has a wingspan of nearly 8ft and they'll weigh roughly around 12 pounds. It's native to Africa and southern Arabia, and used to inhabit Madagascar, but the species has disappeared from this region.
