Description
Taken at Wolf Park - Battle Ground, INI was extremely fortunate this time to hear the pack howl while on my photo shoot to the park last month. It began with a couple of wolves across the lake howling in the distance and the main pack picked it up and responded in kind. When wolves howl at Wolf Park, the humans are encouraged to join in and so many of us who had been there before did so enthusiastically. In between howls (and while howling), I had my camera up and was moving around to get as many photos of them as I could.
This is Wotan howling, eyes closed and looking happy to be howling. Most wolves vocalize in a howl to assemble the pack, to indicate distress or even just locate or communicate with one another from long distances.

Thank you! There was some cropping on this too as someone was in the frame but I'm sure that I was in her frame too. LOL Still, to listen to them howl like that, it's not bone-chilling, it just gives you good goosebumps.
