Someone at dA once mentioned that there are a lot of landscape photos out there, but not as many that are shot in black and white. For us DSLR folks out there, it's a simple post-processing to remove the saturation and enjoy the natural contrasts of a world without color. Looking through my photos, I thought that I should do just that--even though the original purpose of my walk was to get some colorful fall colors, I had a couple that looked interesting when turned black and white.

This was taken at one of the three ponds at Silver Creek and I used Picasa's Filtered B&W function using a red filter to bring out the contrast of the sky, clouds and overall vegetation. I like how this turned out, it's like looking at an older photo taken during simpler times.
