If I had a wacom tablet I could do a better job of scribbling on your pic.This should give you an idea of what I was talking about.
This kind of crop removes all the extra 'stuff' and focuses your attention on the doors.
The image is balanced but the cables throw off the very straight vertical and horizontal straight lines.
the windows and doors take up the exact same amount of space yet they are different size.
They are oposing sizes which I like a lot. The contrast here in colors is great. The fact the door and the star on
the right matches the brick color on the left and the fact the 'blue grey' tone of the left door matches the block of
concrete on the right is another oposing factor. old scribbled door vs fixed up (opposing)
B&W would not work well here as it would take away a lot of the contrasting elements.
I really like this image, it has great potential.
