Male lions will hunt "Firstly, when young male lions are forced to leave the safety net of their mothers pride and become nomadic, be it in small coalitions, (groups of males often born in the same pride) or lone nomadic young males, they are forced to fend for themselves. This occurs through them scavenging prey from unsuspecting, less powerful predators like cheetah and leopards, but it will also entail them hunting for themselves. This they will most definitely do and they will learn the skills of patience and experience of hunting for themselves. At this time however, their manes are not fully developed and therefore their camouflage is not as affected. Secondly, male lions that are within the pride set up will be needed in the hunt when they are required to take down prey that is too large for the females to hunt on their own, such as Cape buffalo, giraffe and even elephants in certain parts of Africa."

I love your designs, really unique and I adore the colour schemes! my only question would be: where does Mufasa get his red mane from if Ahadi's is black and Uru's tail (im assuming) is dark brown/black?

From a distant relative, such as a great-grandfather for example.

It's kinda sad that Scar's (or Taka) own father gave or even had not a bit of confident in Taka, and played favorite between the two. I mean I like Mufasa too but at least make itΒ far love between the two because Taka had good in him too but was sabotaged by the favoritism which turned from depression to jealousy and anger making him evil and dark twisted. He would of probably of been worse if his mother wasn't their to give him love that was needed, but the love that his mother gave was only 50% to Taka (which was her 100%) and his father was the other 50% that wasn't there for him because of his favoritism to Mufasa. Just makes me annoyed that he did that to his other son which was the source of him being evil (for the most part) and also makes me annoyed when people are like " was born evil UGH" when there is no possible way of being born and be called evil not even going through cub stage. Anyways sorry for this little rant but pictures like these makes me speak lol. This is very very well drawn, and colored it's like if it came from Disney himself. Β

I find it interesting that the two are so detached from Ahadi in "A Tale of Two Brothers." It created a headcanon that Uru was the main caretaker of the boys, because she was teaching them how to rule. When she had to search for water and leave Ahadi behind, they were uncomfortable, having not spent much time with Ahadi. Mufasa was helpful and amiable. Taka was distant and irritated.
It doesn't really matter if Scar was neglected as a cub if he truly believes he was and isn't just playing it up for sympathy.

There is no evidence that Mufasa's father actually favored either son over the other in the canon universe.Β I do like the fan-fcition theory that Scar was neglected by his father which made him evil and made him envy Mufasa more.

Well in the story, it revealed that Ahadi thought of Scar as irresponsible, and Mufasa more reliable. In the lion king the musical, Scar revealed that as a cub, "nobody loved him."

Yes I Know, but those stories aren't Canon. It's a good story though.
Extra dialogue was added to the TLKB which wasn't from a deleted scene in the movie. TLKB was spectacular, I would definitely go see it again.

scar is just really ungrateful for the discipline and correction he received as a cub, hence he says that nobody loved him even as a cub. he was small and scrawny as a cub and ahadi used to take him on walks, and played wrestling with him more than he did with mufasa, so as to increase his strength and endurance. his mother and his nurses handled him with kid gloves so that he wouldn't fall ill. (my fan fic)

Since we don't know the legit reason why he did some theories or fan fictions can be close enough for it to count as legit but some theories can be either down right ridiculous or just wrong like for example the theory " Nala's father is either Mufasa or Scar" I don't believe that's a thing because if Simba and Nala was related they would have some sort of similarity to each other like fur color or something, but what I do see happening is a rouge coming in for Sarafina and then quickly back out. :^PΒ Β Β

erarosaimmortal21 In reply to nicker11600 [2015-04-19 21:17:09 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, its a good theory. Well Rob Minkoff a director actually stated in an interview that "Nala has no father and they hoped no would notice." In the original script Nala and Simba were actually both related being cousins and Mufasa was their father and their mothers were sisters. It was a dark, weird and creepy script which was obviously scrapped because of them reasons. Not necessarily, close relations don't always resemble each other and well they just aren't related. Β I've heard this rouge theory before but to me its a better fan-fic theory than Nala and Simba being related.Β

luckily the original script was scrapped which means it's not canon, her not having a father kinda makes no since but if the father was a rouge, killed or something around those lines then it would make since without having to destroy childhoods like mine x^p

i have made an oc- his name is mugabe and he is nala's father and sarafina's mate. he was also a good friend of mufasa and scar. he's really strong, handsome, athletic, and nice. he is responsible, and very unselfish. he goes the extra mile and does favours to such an extent that the receivers are so moved and impressed. mugabe and sarafina's love for each other are so great, that in their cubhoods, they were always seen as bro and sis, and best friends. in their adulthood, they got married and out of their love was born nala. they were only too happy when they heard the news that mufasa and sarabi's son and the prince of the pridelands simba was betrothed to nala, their daughter. they accepted the proposal humbly and mugabe fought with the hyenas and tried to drive them out during scar's reign but in vain. he missed mufasa just as much as zazu did( i take tlk on bway as canon) and took part in the great battle of pride rock. he and sarafina and sarabi lived to see the birth of their grandchildren.

I understand what you mean. lol But Nala just has no father, Disney didn't put as much effort and time into this movie because they thought it wasn't going to be a success. Oh, and a lot of the top animators were working on the Pocahontas movie at the time but of course The Lion King became a much bigger success than it's rival movie. Yes, it makes no sense that they made her have no father Nala is just supposed to be Simba's best friend, love interest and wife.

Yeah I heard about that and man what a huge mistake they made lol, I mean don't get me wrong Pocahontas is good by it's self but compared to The Lion King it's nothing, and that's how I always want to think of Nala and Simba like I always have (which is one of the reasons why they're my favorite Disney couples)

Yes indeed! Pocahontas doesn't have much of good story that's why, just good songs really. lol I still consider The Lion King as the best animated movie
Nala and Simba are my favorite couple too! then Mufasa and SarabiΒ Β

Pocahontas only had three good songs in my opinion, Lion King is and always will be Disney's best movie they ever made, and same with the couplesΒ Simba and Nala is my first and same as you Mufasa and Sarabi close second ( I wish we could of had some more time with them or Simba with his mother more rather than just a clip of them)

Yes true. Indeed it will be
Well it was a short movie but an amazing one though! The movie was about Simba, so other characters didn't get much scene time. Well, Sarabi and Simba were going to have a scene together were Sarabi was going to sing a lullaby called "The Lion on the moon." But apparently it was too long and I do wonder what it would have been like in the movie if they didn't cut it.

It would probably be very heartwarming just like how Mufasa's and Simba's scene was and that annoys me that they made it short, but for a short movie it's the best
