De repente la leona se percata de la presencia de que algo los acechaba, esta se queda por unos segundos observando detenidamente el entorno, el peligro estaba cerca.

"¿Que sucede?" Pregunta su esposo al ver expresión de su mujer

"Ahí que marcharnos" Dijo sin esfumar su mirada

"¿Que?" Dice el padre sin entender lo que pasaba

"¡Corre!" Grita espantada y se levanta de un salto

En ese mismo instante se escucha el fuerte disparo de una bala, es cuando en ese momento la bala traspasa la orilla del árbol.

"¡¡irnos lejos de aquí!!" exclama la leona

El padre toma al cachorro y acompañado por su mujer salen corriendo del lugar, en eso se vuelve a escuchar otro disparo, la familia de leones decide correr hacia las llanuras para así poder perder de vista a los depredadores.

El león adulto llevaba la delantera, y su pequeño hijo estaba espantado, no sabia que o quienes amenazaban a su familia.

"¡Corre Corre! ¡No mires atrás corre!" La madre de familia se encontraba cada vez mas lejos es de su esposo e hijo

A los pocos segundos se escucho de nuevo un disparo, el padre y su hijo se perdieron entre las llanuras y para su suerte encontraron como refugio el viejo tronco de un árbol que al parecer había sido derribado por las tormentas anteriores.

Dejo al cachorro en el suelo, su respiración estaba agitada, cuando por fin logro calmarse se dio cuenta que su mujer no llegaba, preocupado comenzó a llamarla por varias veces, al principio era a voz baja pensando que su mujer estaría cerca, pero conforme los segundos transcurran la voz del león aumentaba con un tono más preocupante......

Pasaron mas de dos horas, él seguía llamando y aun se encontraba sin recibir respuesta, no se daba por vencido, él tenía la fe de que su mujer regresaría pronto .

"Padre" Dijo el cachorro preocupado, había estado oculto por horas dentro del tronco "¿Donde esta mama?"

"No te preocupes hijo, ella volverá" Dijo este con esperanza mientras miraba el comienzo de un atardecer

Y así pasaron horas y horas, aún sin recibir señales de la leona, pronto comenzó a obscurecer, cada vez mas perdía la esperanza, pronto dejo de llamarla, se dio por vencido, ahí fue cuando el padre de familia acepto la triste realidad, su mujer ya no estaba....

El león macho se introdujo a la cueva donde su hijo lo esperaba, el pequeño estaba asustado y un poco hambriento, anteriormente se había alimentado de un pequeño roedor que su padre le había cazado, pero al parecer no le fue suficiente.

"Padre....."

"Lo siento hijo, pero tu madre no volverá" Dijo intentando contener el llanto "Ellos se la han llevado"

El cachorro quedo sin decir una palabra y a los pocos segundos quedo en un mar de lagrimas, su padre solo lo abrazo para consolarlo, ambos habían perdido a alguien muy importante en sus vidas, el cachorro perdió a su madre, mientras tanto el padre perdió a la leona que tanto amaba.....

Al día siguiente fue el comienzo de un largo viaje para un padre y su hijo, tenían que buscar un lugar seguro para vivir, al principio se encontraban en la nada, estaban rodeados de llanuras y ni siquiera había árboles. Luego de unas cuantas horas se encontraban hambrientos y sedientos, aunque para su suerte encontraron un pequeño estanque de agua, después tuvieron que cazar algo para comer, fue difícil ya que los leones machos no están acostumbrados a la casería. El padre del cachorro logro cazar solo una liebre, era muy poca cantidad para ambos pero desgraciadamente era lo único que quedaba.

Después de comer continuaron en la búsqueda de un hogar, durante su largo viaje se encontraron con varias manadas de leones, desgraciadamente no eran aceptados. Pasaron horas, estaba atardeciendo y aun seguían sin poder encontrar un lugar digno de vivir, el cachorro estaba cansado, parecía no poder continuar mas. En ese momento el padre decide quedarse a descansar un rato, sin duda fue un viaje agotador para ambos, el pequeño cachorro aun seguía triste tras la perdida de su madre, al igual que su hijo el padre de familia estaba triste, pero sabia que tenían que ser fuertes y salir en adelante.

"No temas hijo mío, Prometo encontrar un lugar para los dos"

El cachorro sin decir nada abraza a su padre, señal de que estaba de seguro con lo que había dicho.

De repente se escuchan unos extraños pasos entre las llanuras, el padre queda alarmado y de inmediato se levanta de su lugar.

"¿Que sucede Padre?" Preguntó el cachorro

"Detrás de mi hijo" Ordena el padre de familia "Algo se acerca"

De las llanuras aparecen una manada de 10 hienas, quienes entre risas comenzaban a rodear al padre y su hijo. El león se coloca en posición de ataque mientras que el pequeño cachorro se ocultaba bajo sus patas:

"¡Fuera!, ¡Largo de aquí hienas!" Dijo el león con un tono amenazante

"¿Tu y cuantos mas?" Dice una de las hienas, al parecer era la líder del grupo

En ese momento las hienas se acercan mas a su objetivo, cuando se encontraron lo bastante cerca el león comenzó a atacar mientras las hienas se lanzaban encima de el, durante su corta batalla quedo con varias heridas en su cuerpo, en un momento de descuido su hijo estuvo a punto de ser devorado por una de las hienas, por suerte llego a tiempo y lanzo a la hiena a dos metros de distancia, ahí fue cuando se dio cuenta que lo mejor era huir y no valía la pena seguir luchando.

Mientras huía las hienas lo seguían, después de un largo rato huyendo las perdió de vista y se ocultó en el hueco de un árbol.

"Estuvo cerca" Dijo el león mientras jadeaba del cansancio, en ese momento comienza a quejarse de sus heridas

"Padre" Dijo el cachorro asustado

"No te preocupes hijo, estoy bien"

Lamentablemente no era mas que una mentira, el padre del cachorro estaba débil y sentía un terrible ardor en su cuerpo, pero este ocultaba todo con el tal de no preocupar a su hijo. Pasaron la noche en el hueco del árbol, a la mañana siguiente prosiguieron con su viaje, durante el camino el padre del cachorro comenzaba a perder fuerzas, aun estaba exhausto y parecía que ya no podía continuar mas, a los pocos segundos el león sufrió un desmayo:

"¡Padre!" Gritó el cachorro asustado "¡Padre contéstame por favor!"

Miro por todos lados y comenzó a pedir ayuda a gritos:

"¡Ayuda ayuda por favor!"

Pasaron varios minutos y comenzó a gritar de nuevo:

"¡¡Ayuda!!, ¡Alguien ayuda!"

(Ahí es cuando aparece Mufasa para ayudar)
