I watched the documentary a few years ago Elsa died due to some sort of terminal illness and their death was just so sad. Wouldn't mind watching the film.

The story of Elsa's life and her relationship with the Adamsons really helped to change the way our species thinks about the rest of the animal kingdom. And in this rapidly changing world, we could stand to re-learn the lessons they taught us.
More than that, though, the bond that Elsa shared with both Joy and George is probably unlike any other interspecies friendship that has ever been recorded. I've been a huge fan of Born Free for a long time now, and I'm lucky to own all three of the books (the original Born Free, and its sequels, Living Free and Forever Free), and both of the feature-length films on DVD. And let me tell you, I will always treasure them.
