They were fighting against other pirates, and Luther got stabbed, and Lucas turned and saw it, and got shot in the head, so Luther saw that, and then the other guy pulled the sword out and kicked Luther overboard into the water, and James witnessed all of this and a while later after the ship was taken over it was obvious James was next in command so they weighted him down and drowned him

they're 29-31 now, this happens when they're 41-44
