Description

Hey again all, it's another VYOA update for you all again, and by now you should know the routine. This one follows up from the majority votes on the "Shaper of Stars: Shadowy Situation" episode, where everybody unanimously voted for Yori and Alaris to take cover and hide. We'll see how the cautious approach turns out well or not going forward. Anyways, here we go with the ongoing story:

Deciding it best to exercise caution, Yori and Alaris swiftly, but quietly strode backward, until they could find cover behind some of the support structures in the hallway. While the figure continued to surface from the water, its progress slowed, until the being stood waist deep in the floodwater. As the Human and Ailorian peered around the corner, the improved lighting, and absence of water covering the form of the new arrival allowed the pair to finally discern her features. The humanoid shadow had given way to the visage if an alien of unmistakable Nekari descent, though what parts of her physique showed clearly to Yori, struck her as... sharper than most Nekar's. The amphibious race was legendary for their vast undersea cities, just as expansive as any on land, as well as their fervor for their sacred homeworld of Ios. But Yori could tell that this was not one of the Ulathir people, the Nekari ethnics that had extended a hand of friendship to the human race, when it needed it most. But rather this seemed more in line with the Nidari, a far less well understood, and some say hostile type of the semi-aquatic people. The Human knew these Nidari had suffered some great indignity at the hands of their own kin, long before her kind had ever arrived in this galaxy. Perhaps the two should give this one a chance? She thought to herself.

However, as she was doing this, the previously submerged woman stopped in her tracks and let her gaze shift around in most directions, scanning her surroundings. It was clear this person had sensed something, though the pair was seemingly yet to be spotted by the new arrival. This realization was confirmed when the Nekar looked straight down the hallway, in the direction of the duo, though she clearly had yet to physically see them, she spoke as if she already had. Raising a surprisingly sharp set of fingers, the Nekar spoke up: "Hiding is a bit rude, as well as pointless. I can feel your consciousnesses, so you may as well present yourselves. I am no friend to raiders, yet from what I sense, you are not of their ilk." she then locked her gaze on the direction of what she felt. Yori looked at Alaris from her cover and pondered what to do...

Vote options:

1) Perhaps what the Nekari woman suggests is the best idea? Yori and Alaris would step out from their cover and approach the woman and the watery ward entrance.

2) Caution had been emphasized this far, maybe staying hidden was the best idea?

3) The Nidari, as far as Yori knew, were quite harsh to betrayals. Yet if suspicion ever gave way to true trust, they could be fierce allies. Perhaps Yori and Alaris should ply this knowledge with her?
