Description
Hey guys, the picture you see here, as well as the characters featured above are part of my Superverse setting that I've yet to post about before this point, with the exception of one entry. They made their debut (most of em) in this story here: Superverse: Heart of Stone Pt. 1 Which is actually why I am posting this image in the first place. For you see, this is a new idea of mine for a new page initiative where I might post "Cover Art" for the various stories of mine, in an attempt to gain more interest and attention for the stories I post. This is very much going out on a "limb" for me, as it was far more work intensive and a bit laborious in terms of how I usually go about stories, but I figured I'd give it a chance. I really want to see what you guys think, and test out if this sort of approach works or not. I do plan to try this out with other WIP stories I hope to post soon as well, so stay tuned for that. Once again, go here to read the first part of the story, if you are interested: Superverse: Heart of Stone Pt. 1
Though again, because I know people will ask, the characters depicted above are: The supervillain called Gargoyle, the Superhero known as Webcaster, and Webcaster's friend and handler, a girl nicknamed "Jade". This marks the beginning of a whole new family of characters for the Superverse I've yet to post about in full, but if you missed the info on the descrip in this deviation: Superverse: Heart of Stone Pt. 1 they are all apart of a new initiative I've taken to doing, with the Superverse. You see, the whole family related to Webcaster and his pals here are my attempt at doing something other than mere fanfics about official characters, in this case Marvel ones, instead addressing things I don't like, or would prefer by creating proxies. This allows me to do something if even a fraction original to myself and those who work on the Superverse with me, rather than having to adhere to something like Marvel's official canon. So that said, if you notice any similarities to official characters here, it is absolutely, and wholly intentional. Basically that's the point. They are supposed to be obvious references and alternate takes on those sorts of popular media characters.
Has this got you interested? If so, check out the first part of the story here:
Superverse: Heart of Stone Pt. 1"They went down 3rd! What are you doing?? My screen shows you heading towards 5th Ave." the feminine voice said, practically throbbing in his ears as he could easily imagine what sort of motions Jade was doing because of him right now. It was past 8 PM last he checked, and the previously bright skies of Los Angeles had given way to the bustling night life, with the abundance of artificial lighting flowing like some kind of pulsing photonic river below him. But this was no mere dark-hour nightscape high-rise enthusiast, for his vision soared above all this activity below from heights typically only occupied by avian creatures... Or those gifted with super-human abilities that is.
Swinging from point to point, on long light-blue hued strands of a super-strong webbing, the masculine figure clad in white, with dark blue streaks accented by webbing patterns of a far lighter, icy blue. His jet-black eye lenses within his mask did not just form a striking visage against the snowy-toned bulk o if not, no worries, there will be more like this to come, relating to my other settings ASAP.
Hope you like! Let me know what you think about this new initiative!

Webcaster's colours do it for me. So does Jade's expression.
This initiative is doing wonders for me so far.

What I mean is that Webcaster's colours are something to be admired.

Really digging this "cover pic", as you call it, it gives off this comic book cover vibe, which l'm guessing is what you were intending. The action here is great, with Webcaster fighting it out with Gargoyle, and Jade looking on in the background, worried about her friend. Good job on the facial expressions as well, though i guess in WC's case it would just be eye expressions, still you clearly see the seriousness of the situation etched on his face, and the fear and worrying on Jade's.
Great work on this, I'll definitely read your story for this later today when I have some free time, I'd planned to already, but this pic has given me an extra reason to lol.

Thanks! And yeah that's what I was after. Thanks, glad you think the action panned out nicely. And yeah you can get the expressions on them all, which is a good thing. Oh yeah, dat aerial fight and all, being high up.
Thanks! Glad to hear it, though no rush.

I do like how you're experimenting with thickness, perspective and color change to help indicate it. You're getting more sophisticated. The clash between the gargoyle and Webcaster is really easily shown by their color schemes, which make 'em pop visually imo.Β
Wonder how hard it would be for Gargoyle to regain control after being shoulder-checked by someone calling him flappyboi though?

Thanks. And thickness eh? Sophisticated lol, Dunno if I'd say that myself, but thanks. Yeah they should have a sharp contrast in looks, and in other ways.
Lol calling him flappyboi. Well depends on what you mean, control of his being or like, control of his position in terms of flying. Superhero stuff always finds a way to work in the dramatic fight scenes tho.

I like the idea of the cover art... itβs a good way to add to your story with a quick illustration. For example, after reading pt 1 I was having a touch of trouble with Webcasters outfit but now I see it looks really cool!

Yeah I figured it might help draw in some more readers. And oof, sorry about that, tho part of that's probably due to the fact that I crammed so many different characters into that one lol. Glad you think so!
