Based on a dream I had a while ago. My mind/dreamscape is a strange place indeed.

Here is a Tom and Jerry fan-A.U for you! Pictured above are the famous cat-mouse duo, along with four He-Man/Thundercats inspired superheroes.

This is how their story goes. Many years ago, there was a war. The evil forces of Dark-Skull advanced towards the enslavement of the land of Korm, as well as the known world. The only thing standing between him and global domination were the Guardians of Korm, five heroes chosen by Korm's Spirit Guardian to protect the people from Dark-Skull's forces. Then one day, there was a great battle between the Guardians and Dark-Skull himself which ended with both parties sealed in a jewel for the next few hundred years.
Many years later, Tom and Jerry were chasing each other around town as per usual, when they arrived upon the museum where the gem was stored. When they shattered it, the Guardians were realeased, as was Dark-Skull (though much later). Now, the Guardians live with Tom and Jerry (and their owner. Not sure whether to make it Snookie or someone else), as they try to adjust to the new world around them, as well as combat the evil forces of Dark-Skull.

The Guardians of Korm are:

STARON: The leader of the Guardians. Starron is a warrior with a heart of gold chosen by the Spirit Guardian to lead the Guardians. He calls upon the power of the stars, and has a weapon called the Sunblade. He is good-hearted and courageous, but kind of awkward (and he sounds a bit like Cam Clarke's Leonardo in his prime).

VICTORIA: Staron's big sister. She likes to keep an eye on her brother, and acts as a bit of a straight man to the rest of the gang. She is the most out-of-touch with the modern world. She is armed with a shield and golden spear, and also calls upon star magic.

RIDENT: A rat-goblin who used to be a street thug before being apprehended by Staron and then brought into the Guardians' circle. He is very skilled in the art of horse riding, and well... pretty much anything one can ride. He's a boisterous, fun-loving brute who is eager to get into a fight, and is amused by Tom and Jerry's antics. In these modern times, he now rides a modified motorcycle.

LIGHTCHILD: A mysterious young child put under the Guardians' protection, as well as the fourth member. Nobody knows what gender Lightchild is, mostly because he/she never tells anyone, and revels in the confusion of everyone around him/her. Lightchild is the least confrontational, always wishing for a peaceful resolution of any conflict. As such, Tom and Jerry usually comport themselves around Lightchild (as per the other Guardians' request), for "meaningless" conflict upsets the poor thing.

Not pictured is a fifth member called LuckShot, a marksman who was also a thug like Rident, but always had a more loose moral code, and took more risks. In the heat of a battle, he was believed to have perished in the hands of their enemies. Flash forward many years later, and he is now a mercenary, hunting down the Guardians he believes betrayed him.

Now, when designing this, I was aiming for a more serious style than the usual soft style I am known for (and even that style is getting more angular). I knew I couldn't edgy-up Tom and Jerry's design, so I just made them more angular, changed their fur colors a bit and called it a day. As for the heroes, I aimed for something reminiscent of the semi-realistic style He-Man is known for. Though, since Rident is based on an animal anyway, I decided he got a look to blend in with Tom and Jerry.
