HAY LOOK ITS SOMETHING THAT ISNT DISCWORLD.

This is Morran, one of my many, many Redwall fan characters. He's the son of Romsca and Conva from Pearls of Lutra and thus half ferret and half stoat. (I figure that Redwall species are all so humanish anyway that letting already very similar creatures interbreed isn't too impossible.) He was brought up by his mother's sister, Isouda, and he spent the first fifteen seasons of his life working in the tavern she ran. After the events of PoL, he and Isouda are among the few survivors stranded on Sampetra; desperate to escape and longing for adventure, he and six other teenage orphans build a makeshift raft out of the roof and rafters of another tavern and set out for the mainland. They're eventually picked up by a corsair ship that went off course, but as they drift even further away from Mossflower they soon find themselves in very unfamiliar waters....

It's gonna have Chinese pirates--the Redwall equivalent thereof--and complicated alliances and rebellious peasantry and other awesome stuff. And pandas. ITS GONNA HAVE PANDAS, PEOPLE.
