Made 100% by me for a project im working on, thought id just share the preset instead of wasting time with tutorial videos that dont explain what parameters do100% free light trail preset, simply download the after effects project file and import the sequence, copy and paste the layers, and youre ready to animate, etc

velocity is the spread of the particles
things that affect the size of the light using trapcode particular
the scale of the null
emitter intensity
trapcode particular > emitter > velocity
trapcode particular > emitter > emitter size x
trapcode particular > emitter > emitter size y
trapcode particular > emitter > emitter size z
if you increase the above, then you should increase
trapcode particular > particle > size
trapcode particular > physics > air > turbulence field > affect position
however you need to compensate for the emitter particles per second, because the more position you take up the less particles there will be in that one area, so either increae the
trapcode particular > emitter > particles/sec"
or
decrease
trapcode particular > physics > air > turbulence field > scale
keep in mind that if you increase the affect position the evolution will be more obvious so decrease its speed with:
trapcode particular > physics > gravity
AND
trapcode particular > physics > air > turbulence field > evolution speed
