Makes sense. I mean, Junk did have an awesome weapon. For most of the fandom, it's one of the better shield weapons of the Classic series.

Hey, Wood's is terrible. Didn't help that Metal Blade took the glory in MM2. For many, there are only three really useful Barrier weapons in the classic series; Junk Shield, Jewel Satellite, and Water Shield. Same for me, BTW.

I can tell. I watched a few YouTubers try to do crazy stuff with Mega Man games (Perfect Runs and Speedruns, to be exact), and each one said that it's very tough to pull off.

I could never get past Mega Man 3. Every time I try to get through it, and I finally beat the eight RMs (which takes forever by itself), I always get stuck on the blasted Doc Robots. I almost get to the end of the Spark Man one, then get my blue butt PWN'd by Doc Quick. Annoying. Then again, I wasn't expecting much else.

Wow ! you got some hard times on it. MM3 is well known for its insane level, especially with the inclusion of Doc Robots.

I have yet to finish it, even though I'm getting closer by the playthrough. So far, it's a pretty cool game. I don't get much of why everyone hates it so much.

The context made people hate it, especially the "picky fans who know better than anyone else". I have yet to find the time to try this game.

Just for the record, as far as I can tell, the controls and substance are better than most Mega Man games, especially the earlier ones (whose idea was it to invent force beams?). I've heard people say that it doesn't have the charm that the classic Mega Man games did. Yeah, I don't see it. You're aware that the first classic game to have a real progressing story like this was Mega Man 7, right? The first 6 tried, but they...didn't really feel like they progressed. The first 3 were just...what they were (which is lame), and the next 3 were kind of stupid in that sense (especially Mega Man 6; worst plot twist ever). I've heard people complaining about how the voice acting is pretty bad. I don't see it. Of anything, it seems like the voice actors this time knew what they were doing (better than they did in Mega Man 8). And I've heard people complain about how gameplay is too "AcXeleration based" or something like that. So they're not wanting the main character's major gimmick to be used to its fullest? Sounds stupid. And I don't hear people complaining about this in the Mega Man X series. Know what I'm saying?

Hello again~ I'm veeeeery late for that reply, ain't i? The subject is now old, but i finally made effort to reply many comments ^^'
Yeah, after all, they better had to improve old ideas on a current videogame. But it was also important to not just make it a Megaman wannabe. No much things graphically evolved until mm7. They added minor features like E-tanks reserve, robotic assists, stuffs like this.
Imo those who complain about that voice acting only focus on their specific expectations of it, and forget the youngest audience nowadays is not the same as before. I see the irony on the mmX series. But most of the fans would find excuses... Though, i don't know precisely in which context they accept it in for X since this series is linked to the classic one (which still is unfair for MN9). Besides, the first games came out before internet becoming a part of many people's life, so complaints weren't as common as they now are.
They mainly just wanted a Megaman game disguised as another one. But that's not how it works. Some liked this game and the fact some others don't won't change that fact.

At first my fav one was Shade Man (though sometimes he hesitated between him and Slash Man). But when i actually played the game last summer i grew veeeery fond of Junk !
His fight is badass and his theme reminded me of a certain battle theme from a certain DBZ videogame. ^v^
