Description There was going to be more to this... but considering I started it back in... 2006? I figured I'd just upload what I have and call it good.

This is specifically a pigeon wing, but the general structure and feather lay out is true for all birds.

Maybe someday I'll get the one feature different types of bird wings and their purposes done... *shrug*

If this helps you out at all, I'd like to see what your wings looked like before and after!

I couldn't agree more, Opearl. Drawing folded bird/avian wings for birds (along with archaeopteryx and other early species of birds along with feathered dinosaurs) or made up creatures such as the Pegasus aren't easy. But when you look closely at the shapes the different layers of the feathers on the bird wings the birds make whether they're folded or spread out, you'll be drawing perfect birds in no time!Β  Β

The last picture where you've clearly outlined how the wing folds up and how the feathers sit atop each other.

Very nice anatomy right there ^^ Wish more people would understand bird wings... So often in movies we still see birds whose wings are fugly and move incorrectly
