Here are some of the designs I did for the Bandai.com online game, BEN 10- DNA Lab. I started designing these Hybrids last year and they have been unveiled in the game as each successive toy set game out. I did somewhere in the neighbor hood of 80 hybrids.As they have been out for a respectable time now and posted and reposted on fansites hither and yon, I figure that I can now display them in my portfolio without fear of leaking sensitive info. Many of you have seen these over at ~Akamu1228's gallery and similar fan postings.

Well, my friend, that was the job. Bandai Online wanted me to make more that 80 such Hybrids of the Ben 10 alien forms for an online game at bandai.com. Benvicktor just happened to be among the hybrids. There were a few that weren't done. I wish I got to do Waybig, Greymatter, and Ripjaws.

It has been a while since i did these, but as I recall, I did hybrids with Fourarms, XLR8, Heatblast, Diamondhead, Ghostfreak, Wildmutt, Benwolf, Benvicktor, Upchuck, Upgrade, Wildvine to name a few. There may be more, but I can't remember just now.

Thanks a lot, man. Mine is probably a bit more refined as that I actually worked on the show for 37 episodes. I just got a little more practice racked up is all.

Well, I primarily draw the image on paper and ink it with a pilot fine liner or some such pen. then i scan it in and color them in Photoshop CS2.

Hmmm Ok...but then how do you take care of that lil halo white line that seems to be there when you try to select that area and put color into it?

I work in layers in Photoshop. I make the top layer the Line Art layer and set it to Multiply in the Layer Propertys drop down box. This will make your Line Art layer work as an Overlay that is clean and only the black is opaque. Below that I make a duplicate of my Line Art Layer, This will be my Color Layer. Then I use the Bucket Tool with the Tolerance set to 100 and begin to fill in my areas of color on the image. Easy as pie, Grasshopper. Give it a shot and let me know if it works for you.

It has been almost 2 years since we chatted and I thought it appropriate to do so under the same line of text we used. I wanted to say thank you for this advice you gave me. It was simple, to the point, and helped me a lot as I learned how to paint digitally. I even used it when working on Call of Duty Black Ops!

Ok if i'm correct Ben will be fighting evil DNA Aliens in the new upcoming cartoon. Does this mean that these could be some of the aliens he will be facing?
