Description
Necrontyr 40K.My headcanon about what they looked like because I thought too many independently evolved humanoid species would be heavy coincidence even by 40K standards.

Nice idea! I just wonder, how did they end up with the humanoid metal bodies? Were those a different species and the Canoptek Wraith the actual Necrons?

Well I thought they were transmuted to a humanoid form in response to mostly humanoid enemies. Being denied one's compassion and free will sure fits that sort of thing.
Although you have an interesting theory that Necrons enslaved another race to take into biotransference with them. Maybe extra manpower?

Then again, why? Their form is faster on rough terrain, though a bit slower to pick up speed, not much can beat walking on two legs when it comes to initial acceleration, not even F1-cars. Bipedals are veryΒ fast off the line.Β
That would also raise the question, why are the overlords and every ranking member humanoid? Though cookie to crack, though I like your idea of less humanoid species a lot!
