Description
The next morning Big Macintosh awoke to the smell of a cooking breakfast, a growling stomach, Celestia's Sun in his eyes and an empty bedside. "Fluttershy?" He asked as he sleepily walked down the stairs.
"Good morning Big Macintosh," Fluttershy said pecking around the corner from the kitchen . "I'll almost be done with breakfast in just a moment. You just get comfortable by the table." she continued as she went back to cooking.
"Sure thing." The Stallion replied walking toward the dining room table and getting comfortable. After a few minutes the yellow pegasus mare emerged from the kitchen with two steaming plates of pancakes, toast two bowls of oatmeal and two glasses of fresh orange juice all balanced on a tray in her teeth. "Here, let me take these." he said as he got up to take the tray from the mare.
"Thank you." The pegasus said with a small blush forming on her muzzle.
"It's no problem." He said through his teeth. When they got to the dining room table and started eating away Big Macintosh asked Fluttershy why she was up so early.
"Oh," She responded putting down her piece of toast. "I guess after taking care of the animals for such a long time made me able to rise early, that and the Sunlight in my eyes woke me."
"Well than why didn't you wake me, I could have helped with the cooking."
"Oh, I did not do that because you seemed to be in such a peaceful sleep... and you seemed so happy and... I did not want to disturb you." Fluttershy said remembering the red stallion in the bed with a big smile on his muzzle, a lot bigger than she ever saw before.
"I appreciate the thought, but you really did not have to do that." Big Mac said with a grin on his face and with a slight blush. And for the remainder of the breakfast the two ponies ate in silence, it was not an awkward silence but a friendly silence, the one that is heard when there does not have to be any words to be exchanged to enjoy each other's company. And when they were finished Big Macintosh said as he got up."Well today is Monday and that means I have chores on the farm," He continued as he got to the cottage door. "but don't worry I will make an excuse on why I should see you again."
"Big Macintosh, wait." Fluttershy said as she ran up to the stallion and giving him a hug and buried her muzzle in to his chest." Thank you for being there for me last night."
"Aw," The stallion responded while putting his muzzle on top of her head with a huge unseen blush "it was no problem, I'm pretty sure you would have done the same for anypony going through the same thing." And they stood there for a few seconds, which felt like a life time for the two. And when they parted, reluctantly, the red stallion said "Well I got to go back to the farm...." just as yellow pegasus said "I should really get breakfast for the woodland creatures..." And they proceeded to say good bye to each other one more time and started to head in their sperate direction, with occasional glances backward.
When Big Macintosh got back to Sweet Apple Acres he was greeted by AppleJack happily bucking away at some apple trees, "Well howdy there sleepy head," She asked in a mocking tone, "where in tarnation were you."
"I was just with Fluttershy, I got trapped in with her after I finished helping her fix her cottage. Where were you?" He said while joining in his little sister on the chores.
"Hm.. I see, I hope you were good."She responded bucking a tree. "And I was trapped here in the farm with Caramel and Granny Smith, and Apple Bloom was stuck with Rarity."
"Don't worry sis," Big Mac said pulling the cart of apples to the next tree. "I promise you that I caused no trouble. And AJ?"
"Yeah." The blonde orange mare said as she turned around to face her brother.
"Do you mind if I, uh, go back to Fluttershy's place after the chores are done, I got to help her with some stuff." He said not looking his sister in the eye.
"Hmm," AppleJack said as she started to catch on and started to grin,"sure you help Fluttershy with whatever she needs." as she still started to grin.
"Thanks AJ." Big Macintosh said starting to pull the cart again, but a little faster this time.
"No problem Big Mac." she said softly. And that was basic routine for Big Macintosh and Fluttershy, Big Mac finishes his chores and go sees the shy mare, nobody else knew of this until the next Sunday.
