Description
Here's a size comparison to a juvenile skull-crawler cdn.discordapp.com/attachmentsβ¦MINORE SPOILER AHEAD
The spore mantis is my favourite creature of Skull island, so i was pretty dissapointed about it's quick and unnecessary appearance, it would have been much better if it got to chew on a soldier or two, oh well... Atleast it didn't die.
So here's my theory, the Spore mantis we saw on the big screen was just at larvae/nymph stage... >

Not every creature on Skull Island has to be portrayed as a killing machine you know.

1: not every creature is portrayed as a killing machine
2: isn't the spore mantis already a killing machine to begin with?
3: my design, i decide

1: You just basically repeated what I said, thus proving my point even more.
2: We never saw it kill anything onscreen, so that question is pointless.
3: Don't care.

Did you even read my comment?
1: No. I said "not every creature is portrayed as a killing machine" i didn't prove your point, there are tons of harmless creatures on skull island if you haven't already noticed.
2: Look up it's bio, your point is based on pure ignorance
3: Then what the hell are you doing here? If you're only here to start an argument then get out the fuck out stringbean

I wanted to say that your drawing makes me think of this praying mantis prehistoric.

I agree, it should have eaten/killed someone or at least gotten in a fight. Still cool though.

Actually I thought it was good to see an ugly and frightening creature that isn't necessarily a killing machine. The island isn't only big bad skullcrawlers and cute fluffy buffalos.

True, but this one dosen't eat small fry, so anything under the buffalo's size is safe. And not to mention, the creaturs files for the spore mantis days that it's a carnivore, so it's not that innocent
But overall, i was just very dissapointed about it's role in the movie, i had really been looking forward to it attacking the soldiers. So i decided to give it a little "upgrade"

But if only it had been officially stated to be an infant just like the Cloverfield monster then that might allow your theory to work!
