An insomniac, he has spent many nights staring at the moonlit sky alongside Ebony. He is very loyal to his few friends and his Pokémon. He has an incredibly large sense of justice, and because of that has earned some enemies amongst the higher ranked organizations such as Team Rocket, Team Magma and Aqua, and Team Galactic. He will do just about anything he can to protect a Pokémon, even take a hit for them, such as when he saved Alpine as a Seedot from a Houndoom's Flamethrower attack, leaving him with an eternal burn. He wears cloaks of various colours, although they tend to be black, mainly to hide any chance of people seeing his scars, but also because he plain and simply like cloaks. He has traveled all around Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and most of Sinnoh. He saves abused/neglected Pokémon, and gives them to trainers who are willing to care for them. He has saved about 100 Pokémon, three of which he has on his team (Alpine, Chun, Queen).

He has a major crush on Kirii.
He teamed up with Jas to defeat any Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua/Galactic members in the Frontier.

The day Jethro turned 10, his mom and dad gave him an Eevee for his birthday. Due to Jethro's insomnia, the duo has stayed up late many nights together star gazing. He may be the highest leveled, but he isn't the strongest. He is, however, the smartest and wisest. Ebony has always had Jethro's back, since long before any adventures had started.

A gift from his aunt, Joey was sent from Sinnoh to Kanto as an egg. Upon hatching, he was a runt, and scared of EVERYTHING. Upon becoming a Luxio, he became extremely aggressive and distrusting towards everything and everyone. Finally, upon becoming a Luxray, Joey calmed down and became the strongest on Jethro's team, despite being a lower level then Ebony. Joey is the self proclaimed leader of the team, who believes himself to be a Dark-Type.

Illegally imported to Viridian Forest by Team Rocket for black market trading, Jethro, being the insomniac he is, saw some Rocket Grunts bringing Alpine, as a Seedot, into the forest, and followed in pursuit with Ebony, then an Eevee. Once Jethro confronted the Grunts, he had them on the ropes until one Grunt sent out a Houndoom. The Houndoom then used Flamethrower, aimed at the poor Seedot. Jethro threw himself in the way of the Seedot, saving it, but getting badly burned in the process. The normally disloyal Shiftry is 100% loyal to Jethro, because he never forgot the sacrifice Jethro did for him.

Abandonded in the middle of Saffron City, his former trainer was displeased about his being a male. Seeing the upset of his trainer, Queen tried acting like a female Charmander, but still never won back the love of his trainer. Spent five months wandering around Saffron City before Jethro found and saved him. Still pretends to be a girl.

A gentle soul who was living all alone in a pond near Lilycove before meeting Jethro. Because of the stigma that all Crawdaunt are vicious and territorial, and the fact that Nawlins is gentle and craves companionship, Nawlins is a very lonely soul. Upon meeting Jethro, however, and sensing his true kindness and love of Pokémon, Nawlins immediatly trusted Jethro, going as far as hitting a Pokéball that Jethro had in order to be captured just so he could stay at Jethro's side.

Found in Hoenn as an abused Tyrouge, Jethro quickly scooped up Chun. Team Aqua stole the rare Tyrogue egg from Kanto, and then tried to engineer him to be "perfect". When things didn't work out, an Aqua Grunt chucked the young Chun out to the streets, where Jethro happened to be walking by. Jethro proceeded to defeat the Grunt, thus gaining Chun's neverending loyalty.
