Y'know, now that I look at it. His expression is all like "Hey, how you doin'?", which is hilarious.

And you haven't seen Attack on Titan yet? Well, I'd suggest either watching and reading all of it and keep up to date, or never go near it until the whole thing has come out and it's settled down after awhile. The thing with AoT is, there's literally tons of plot twists that could be spoiled for you even if you get remotely near it. Nature of the beast, unfortunately.
