Description
As a tribute for my most popular picture The Rise of a Planet that recently hit 6.000 favs I came up with this scene. The image is also part of The Luminarium's latest exhibition called Gaia (www.theluminarium.net). My girlfriend helped me a lot with suggestions during the work.Several different wallpapersizes are available at gtgraphics.de .

That must be an annular eclipse! Because the moon is too far for it to be a total.

Hi Tobias. Sorry i've not been to see your work for a while. I thought this was an image of something in the Masai Maia Game Reserve in Kenya at first (my niece lives there nowadays and she sends me lots of pix of it).
Its a lovely image my friend. Say thankyou to your girlfriend for whatever suggestions she made and, of course, for keeping you under control

It looks like the sun is being eclipsed by a gas giant, rather than a moon (which I thought was your idea). Still, even if that wasn't the original idea, this looks amazingly fantastic and breathtaking
Good work!
