Description
The base stock is an early morning panorama photo of my hometown Dresden. I always wanted to give it a futuristic look and that is why I gave it a try (and besides the larger planet this might become reality one day). Fence from cgtextures.com.Little making of: [link]

Wonderful yet again, but for me the gates stock at the bottom, is too much, it dominates the composition I found
i think it would look far nicer without this there .. but that's just my own feelings, the level of work you put in is always astounding mate

hehe I think there are two point of views in general. some prefer a foreground element like this fence, some doesn't.
maybe it helps you if you imagine to stand on a bridge. then there would be a fence
thanks mate (like always)

My issue is not the idea of the fence itself, but rather how it's being shown .. in the background, I have mad levels of detail, vibrant lights, and colors etc .. and then I have this ugly flat boring fence doing nothing
That's why i said what I did .......... same time though, before you say it lol .. I am well aware that the closer an object in this sort of light source, would appear with more of a silhouette effect etc ..
I just think it looks ugly by comparison to the rest of the paintings elements, that's it, that's all, love ya

Love it!...but seriously, why that fence? It's kinda in your face and it ain't a futuristic style + it literary keeps you away from enjoying the image in full.
So except for the fence I totally love it!

hmmm the fence leeds the eye from old stuff in the foreground to new stuff in the background

I love this. No, seriously. I love the close proximity of the other planet. It gives this a totally different atmosphere to other pictures that have smaller planets in the sky. Also, most futuristic cities feel too far-fetched, and they take on a sort of cold and alien feel. This picture is futuristic, but it's also warm and familiar at the same time. I feel like I could quite happily live in this future-Dresden.
