Description
Project HyperionThis was a practise-only project. Therefore the scene itself isn't that special and new. Focus was on realism and quality.Project Hyperion is comparable to NASA's Apollo program. The goal is the moon.
I only used own stocks. Done with Photoshop and Wacom Graphire 4. Thanks a lot to *ChrisCold for his hints and feedback!

When I looked at that, it instantly reminded me of this exposed photo taken of a shuttle take off:

I think it looks really great, although the color of the sand doesn't seem quite right to me, considering how progressed the sunset is. Just my opinion though. :s

I must say, Hyperion, this is absolutely brilliant. I love how wonderfully you captured the clouds and the mountains, and just the entire setting as a whole. I really like how the clouds are almost being swept over the mountains, and how the sun is glaring through the clouds in the back, and I also love that smoke streak going from the bottom to the top. Really nice my friend, keep up the good work!

I think you did quite well with the contrail and the smoke near the ground. The smoke looks especially nice.

Hey,

Had me going there, just for a moment - seriously thought it was real!
Excellent image, love the slight jitter in the exhaust trail.
(is that a chase plane under the cloud?)
