Description
Project HyperionThis was a practise-only project. Therefore the scene itself isn't that special and new. Focus was on realism and quality.Project Hyperion is comparable to NASA's Apollo program. The goal is the moon.
I only used own stocks. Done with Photoshop and Wacom Graphire 4. Thanks a lot to *ChrisCold for his hints and feedback!

Very nice. My only nitpick is that the line between the rocky mountains and the smoke looks quite harsh and perhaps the smoke should be darker the lower to the earth it gets to show it is affected by the shadows cast by the mountains. At the moment it looks a little out-of-place.

Certainly what I would call realistic; I thought it was a photo until I read the artist's comments, so well is this put together!

Yeah, definetily realistic, I like how depth is established by the rocket going behind the clouds too. At first I thought it was a really tall dust-devil or something

I'm surprised anyone else thought that at all weather and tornadoes especially were the only major interest I had before discovering what space was all about when I was around 9 or so
so now it's set in stone that if I see a pillar of cloudy, smokey or dusty substance that I automatically see a tornado first
