I'm not, because I really think it looks too much like one. It needs more smoke drift/dispersal near the bottom, I'm sure you've seen a real shuttle launch and that goes everywhere.
I was much the same, but is it really ingrained? I'm not so sure.

Hmm, it could be the very "dusty" look of the base of the smoke pillar, space shuttle launches leave really dense cauliflower-like smoke clouds that bubble outwards with such a solid-looking edge that it looks like you can physically touch them

That would probably be the only crit I have on this, sharper-edged smoke clouds, more like these [link]

You mean less sharp edges? Because that's what I think too. Especially that bit of the trail that's in direct sunlight.

Nope, I meant more rocket trails stay pretty solid-looking for quite some time, though in this case here it looks like heavy wind could have influenced it, causing the trail to break up and become "fluffier" like this

It's way to 'sharp' as is to be convincing to me. Sure they can look solid, but they disperse and move too... when's the last time you saw a plane leave a perfect sharp trail all the way across the sky?

Not fluffy enough!
