Description
Kid Flash (Wally West) from Young Justice. Making this costume was a lot of stress but in the end I think it was worth it. I had a lot of fun with our group (even if it was difficult to breathe in this).Taken at Youmacon 2011

I think I used a regular acrylic paint, and gloss? Or it may have just been a glossy paint, I'm not sure exactly, it was a while ago.

It's a round plastic ornament from Hobby Lobby that comes in two pieces

Hey this is so great and another question since I'm being him for Halloweenn...so I bought a plan white mask, cut it like his, and put yellow fabric over it. And i got red ornament halves for the lightning bolts, but I don't know how to attach it. Hot-glue would be too clumpy, and i don't know how to cut double-sided tape to fit...help?

I'm trying to remember how I attached mine, since I've sold the costume... I think I just used glue, honestly, though I may have cut the fabric a bit to glue it to the inside of the ball? Uhhh. I may have used E6000 or something like that, a stronger glue of some sort.

Yeah we ended up just using hot glue, it worked fine. But thanks!

hey~
a few time ago i asked you something and now i've got another question x.x
how did you fix the emblem on your chest? ;A; did you paint it? leather?
spandex is such a monster...

TobieJade In reply to 0Takaya0 [2012-08-29 15:11:33 +0000 UTC]
It's just fabric paint. I spread the finished costume out on my bed over some cardboard so it didn't leak through onto my sheets, and then pinned it down so it was stretched flat, and painted it.

we used simply leather and glued it on my chest XD
with saran wrap under the fabric of course~

Not really! @__@ Spandex can be really tricky. You've really just gotta be patient and careful and take your time with it.

This is sooooo awesome!!! I think I'm going to cosplay as him just for fun cause my friend's having a cosplay b-day party! How did you make the actual costume? Is it a unitard or what?

TobieJade In reply to frostedcheerios9 [2012-04-16 17:06:43 +0000 UTC]
I started with a unitard that fit me and used the pattern to create my own suit out of red and yellow spandex.

Thanks! They're a plastic ornament that separates into two halves, I painted them red, and then added the lightning bolts.

This- this is just amazing. HOW? I understand the gloves, those are simple. Is it a full body suit/unitard/whatever they're called?

TobieJade In reply to 0Takaya0 [2011-12-14 20:27:32 +0000 UTC]
The boots were actually given to me secondhand. They were originally just plain leather boots, which I painted yellow with some glossy acrylic paint. Keep an eye out at thrift stores? I sometimes get lucky there for cosplay footwear.
