Description
It kind of sucks being mislabeled. Yes, I have made the mistake of mislabeling Mikasa as yandere once, but she shows NONE of those signs in the anime or the manga.I'd also add Yuuka here, but I made it abundantly clear she is NOT yandere whatsoever.
Touhou belongs to ZUN
Higurashi belongs to Ryukishi07
Puella Magi Madoka Magica belongs to SHAFT
Attack on Titan belongs to whoever made it

I'd say her devotion makes herΒ partiallyΒ count, though Mikasa does lack the romantic attachment necessary to be classified as a full Yandere.
And she's not a Yangire either, lacks too many cutesy moments Β now that I remember.

To be fair, having two nervous breakdowns isn't exactly healthy...

One which ended up in Sayaka (possibly) killing two misogynist jerks on the subway.

Someone who understands the difference between Yangire and Yandere? FINALLY.
Who thinks Sayaka is a Yandere?

Since Sayaka broke down because Hitomi "stole" Kamijou, it led some people to think she's yandere. Now let's hold up a minute there: Hitomi gave Sayaka a chance to confess her feelings, but she didn't take that chance. While Hitomi was accepted by Kamijou in the anime, it could be possible that she was telling him how Sayaka felt in the anime.

So Rena is not a yandere?
Flandre is often mistook for one.
Who ever said Sayaka was one?
WHO THE HELL TOUGHT THAT MIKASA WAS A YANDERE?!!

1. She's yangire. Her reason for killing were not because of love, unlike Shion.
2. Indeed. So is Yuuka, Alice and (sometimes) Patchouli and Marisa.
3. Another case of fan-dumb
4. More fan-dumb

It's the guy who drew the manga, yes. I looked it up on Wikipedia.
(Granted, I never read the manga. I only marathon'd the entire anime one Sunday a couple moons ago.)

Ryoko Asakura: Also not a Yandere despite popular fanon. She's a Yangire instead.
Yes, failure to understand the terms leads to mislabeling abroad.

1st panel: Rena Ryuguu from Higurashi no Naku koro ni. She is incorrectly labeled as a yandere, when the truth is she's actually a yangire. She killed a con artist and his pimp in one timeline to protect her father from being conned and she killed the main baddie's henchmen to protect her friends in other timelines.
3rd panel: Sayaka Miki from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Incorrectly labeled as a yandere because of a nervous breakdown she had. While this breakdown was caused by a boy she liked, she acknowledges what she did afterwards was wrong: a trait most yanderes lack.
4th panel: Mikasa Ackerman from Attack on Titan. Incorrectly labeled as a yandere because of her devotion to her adoptive brother, Eren. This devotion comes from *spoiler* him saving her from kidnappers as a child. While she'll do anything to protect him, she's not violent towards other women around him like most yanderes are.

Yangires are sweet until they snap. But unlike their yandere cousins, their reason for snapping does not have to do with love.
