I'm becoming ridiculously fond of this pairing, so! At last, here is an actual finished fanart for them. I may end up writing a drabble to go with this, but the basic idea came from my early attempts to draw them kissing, which mostly resulted in frustration and me thinking, "Aw, phooey, it's so hard to keep the chemistry in a kiss when she has to bend way over to get to him..."
...and I can't resist a challenge, so I started getting creative, thumbnail-sketching different positions in which one may actually mack on someone in a wheelchair while retaining a modicum of sexyfine. This ended up being my favorite, partly because it's so Toph. Hush and lemme sit on you, Flyboy.
(Light and shadow, woot! Yes, this is the Northern Air Temple, and yes, the sun is supposed to have just risen over the mountains. Why is she in her Fire Nation clothes? It's summer and she's hot? I dunno, I just liked the visual contrast of red and green. I continue to get incrementally better (I think?) at digital painting, through simple experimentation and practice, though I have a long way yet to go...)

Seriously. I still wonder why they bothered to bring them along--I almost suspect it was because they were looking for an excuse to leave most of the cast behind and couldn't find a realistic one other than CHILDREN FIRST that narrowed things down to under ten people.
(Since, y'know, MAIN CHARACTERS FIRST is a bit of a ding in the Fourth Wall...)

Awwww! Cute! I never actually considered this pairing, to tell the truth - probably because poor Teo has like four lines in the third season.... But now I'm interested! Lol. I think I'm still going to mainly stick to Tokka and Taang, but now there's a third contender! I love how Teo looks all surprised, it's adorable!

*chuckles* Well, I have my especial favorites, but I don't subscribe to the idea that there is Exactly One True Love Ever that a person will ever have. Too many people are happily committed for years, break up or lose their spouse to illness or injury, and commit happily again for that theory to be sound.
(This is what allows me to ship, say, Sokka/Yue and Sokka/Suki, or to not worry my head too much about Kataang because of the total, human possibility of outgrowing one relationship for another. Life is long and love is sweet, and very diverse! ^_^)

Lol. Denoting Exactly One True Love Ever would take a great deal of fun out of the fanfic writers and fanart makers, that's for sure! And then where would all the shipping battles go? No fun at all! Lol, and it provides a great deal more in creative options, that's for ure.
And you make an excellent point about life and love. I like to think that love grows with us as we grow up, changing and evolving into different shapes and forms. With this thought, I can come to terms with both Kataang and Zutara, just like you said!
And Suki/Foamy?! Canon?! M&B didn't make Zutara canon, yet they try and pair those two together? ..... *doesn't understand*

*nods* There are plenty of forms of love in the world--and though I'm a strong Zuko/Katara fan, I think pretending Katara doesn't love Aang very much is not just silly, it's selling all three of them short. I just see many other, equally valid types of love besides the romantic in their bond, and can't help wondering if (and, I admit, hoping) the romantic, having risen to the top in the last few episodes, will eventually recede again.
(And I would be perfectly happy to see an eternal shipping peace declared, in which we might all celebrate what we love without either abusing or feeling threatened by our brothers and sisters in Avatardedness...a spirit of optimism which, I suppose, makes me as barmy as Abridged Series Katara.

I don't think it's fair to say that Katara DOESN'T love Aang, it's just not the same type of love that we as Zutarians see as possible between Katara and Zuko. It's still a valid love between Katara and Aang, and it's definitely not fair to say that they don't have a strong bond. To think that something could come between them really easily would be not giving them enough credit, I think. And with how much they've changed over the course of the show, I think it's also fair to believe that they can outgrow and grow into other loves
As great as an eternal shipping peace would be, I think it's a long time in coming. Lol. Maybe a few years after the movie, when everything's calmed down....

*nods* Despite loving Zuko/Katara like sweet water on a hot day, I can't picture a future in which Katara doesn't light up and run over to dispense hugs whenever she and Aang meet up. They're just...an OTF for me. I want him to play with her kids and for them to call him Uncle Aang; I want them to go penguin sledding together at age fifty and laugh all the way home and then gang up on Zuko in a snowball fight which he will by then be good-natured enough to lose with a modicum of grace. I have an icon on LJ of the two of them under that umbrella with the character for FRIENDS written huge behind them in Japanese.

Indeed! If Katara didn't still care for Aang, then she wouldn't be the same Katara we all know and love. For sure, she's one of the most interesting characters in the series, with all the dynamics, changes and challenges she has to undergo.
Aww, Uncle Aang! I can totally see him spoiling whatever kids Zuko and Katara have as well. He'd take them for rides on Appa and airbend them all over the place.
And I now have the desire to draw the GAang partaking in a snowball fight!

wow, I've heard of this pairing a couple times and a few fans liking it, but never actually processed it in my head. now that I have a visual representation, I like this pairing too xD everything in this fanart makes me want to squeal in delight: the beautiful bg, TOPH AND TEO, shading, etc! too bad toph and teo don't actually speak to each other in the show

(Haha, yeah, we Teo/Toph fans have to content ourselves with the extreme likelihood that they hung out at least a little at the Western Air Temple, especially while she was all burnt-footed, and the fact that she helped his dad get him into Appa's saddle at the end of the Day of Black Sun and stood by during their Touching Family Moment...and otherwise pin our hopes on the nebulous fanon future.

DAANG that's pretty art for a Teoph. Usually the ship is so... unlooked-at.
It's just so... soft. Toph's body is very round and flowy and both their faces are really cute. The background is gorgeous, too. Such soft colors... the whole scene is very sweet. Plus you can draw Teo. XD Serious props for that. I love his expression, and his hand.
So, yeah, I'm in love with this and am faving it. ;D

I'm glad you like the style--it's more of what I consider "my" style, as opposed to my usual attempts to more exactly mimick canon. (There's a distinct Amano influence in the way I draw hands when left to my own devices.

It's not too hard, just grab a few screenshots off of Avatar Spirit or Iroh.net and practice a little. The shapes are all simple and easy to remember. ^^
