Designation: Star-Fighter - Patrol Mk 3

The P3 Starfighter is perhaps one of the more unique Space fighters in service. Initially designed by Jakeili firms for use inside of the great Nebula that their planet resided in, the star fighter has a number of unique features compared to most fighters. One of the more unique features is the "Wing Ionization System", a line of Ionization fins along the entire length of the wing, built into a 'slot' of the leading and trailing edge catches particles that float into either of the wings and ionizes it in a burst of speed. The Ionization system is also present along the tail with the rudder and elevators. This system is computer controlled and responds with the movement of the fighter to create directed bursts of power in various directions (There are ionization fins also built into 'Ailerons' to allow for pitch and roll) to tighten turns, dives and climbs relative to the spacecraft. This is, of course, combined with the heavy Fusion torch built into the spine of the aircraft and the standard Coalition "Grav Bubble" graviton drive.

In addition to the Ionization System, the fighter is toted as being 'ridiculously heavily armed' for a fighter. The Jakeili took advantage of the Ionization System to counteract the increased weight of the armaments they included. The armaments include a a pair of heavy automatic Gravity Rifles mounted in flexible pintle mounts under the wing and feed from a truly cavernous magazine that takes up a good portion of the entire upper wing of the aircraft, as well as a pair of tank-grade Charged Particle Lances. The Charged Particle lances are fed by a Coalition Standard "Chain" of Particle Capacitors that are charged sequentially on a trip along the entire lower wing on each side of the fuselage. This charging system even includes the wing Ionization system to supplement it. This gives the albeit slower Charged Particle Lances a remarkably faster rate of fire than their tank counterparts. This system however, is far too bulky and must be mounted in a large fixed apparatus such as a wing to operate.

Due to it's armaments being entirely in the wings of the fighter, it has allowed for the P3's Fuselage to be extremely heavily armored with an included shield generator built into the graviton bubble and a energy deflector shield mounted behind the cockpit. While somewhat more sluggish than it's "Pursuit" brethren, the P3 retains enough agility to still rank in the role of a fighter... but with far more bite and survivability than most would expect.

Also a unique aspect, along with it's incredible space flight capabilities the P3 is capable of using the apparatuses for it's Ionization system as true-flight control surfaces in a pinch - however it is far, far more sluggish in the air than a true Aerospace fighter - allowing it to bring the combat where-ever it wants to go.
